Kellan spent 6 weeks in the NICU and is now home with his Mom (Karen), Dad (Kyle), and big sister (Kiersten). “HRH played a huge part in my overall well being and happiness while on bed rest and while my son was in the NICU. The Bed Best Basket and NICU Napsack I received had so many useful and fun things. HRH has wonderful people working for an amazing cause and I am amazed by how many people have similar yet different stories like mine. We have already donated to HRH, plan to attend the Tot Trot and I plan to donate my time and support to this organization going forward!” Karyn Bersch

2014 HRH Tot Trot Have you marked your calendar for THE event of the year for families with young children? The second annual Tot Trot will be held 11/15/14 at 9:30 a.m. at Gadsden Park in Tampa. You won’t believe that we have in store for your family but lets just say you will leave with happy and exhausted children. There are several ways to get involved, and you don’t have to choose just one!

Mother’s Day Treat HRH moms had a extra special Mother’s Day thanks to Random Acts of Flowers Pinellas, who made 35 beautiful flower arrangements for our SJWH and TGH bed rest moms! They also made a special visit to a HRH family in the NICU, Shea and Chris Olsen and their 3 baby boys delivered on April 30, 2014. Drew, Beckett and Kipton graduated from the NICU on May 30, 2014, and are doing great!

Give Day Tampa BayHigh Risk Hope family members stepped up big time for the inaugural Give Day Tampa Bay and showed our community what we already knew; we have THE best and most loyal supporters. HRH raised $15,820 and was 5th in overall donors out of 384 nonprofits spanning 4 counties! Collectively, this 24 hour day of giving raised $1,089,359 for local nonprofits!

Stork of the Month May 2014 Stork of the Month Melissa Fogarty accepts her award from Janelle, Jonathan and Selah Miller, a HRH NICU family. Did someone go above and beyond to help you during your hospital stay on the HROB floor or in the NICU? Your HRH stork could be a doctor, nurse, hospital staff, volunteer, friend or family member. Nominate your stork on our website today!

Take ActionEach year, HRH serves 1,200 women on hospital bed rest, premature infants and their families. Over 30,000 babies are born prematurely in Florida every year, so many more need our services. With your help we will prolong the pregnancies of more women on long-term hospital bed rest, support more premature infants throughout their recovery in the NICU and give more families the support they need during their family’s hospitalization.

We can't do it without you, so we're asking you to get involved. You can join HRH’s outreach by donating your time, voice, treasure or talent and make a life-long impact in the life of a baby. Please visit our website for detailed information on how you can help.

Light Up TampaNovember 17th is World Prematurity Day where organizations around the world join together to raise awareness about premature birth and how it can be prevented. High Risk Hope is partnering with local businesses and residents to Light Up Tampa Purple and Green November 15-17 in honor of World Prematurity Day and the HRH Tot Trot. You can make a difference for our community’s premature infants by simply changing a few light bulbs! Please contact us to become a partner and light up your home or building purple and green.

Internship Opportunities Do you have a high school or college student who is currently looking for an internship? Our interns aren’t stuck in an office filing paperwork, they are out in the community working alongside HRH supporters and volunteers. Just ask Taylor Whitworth, she is a Tampa Prep graduate and is headed to Duke University in the Fall!

Congratulations Taylor and thank you for all of your hard work!

HRH Has a Fresh New Look! Thanks to a generous Technical Assistance Grant from The Children’s Board of Hillsborough County, the HRH and Tot Trot websites are being redesigned for a more streamlined user experience. The release date is scheduled for July 2014 so keep your eye out!

Do you love our new logo? We do too! Thank you Sensory 5

for donating your time and talent to design our spectacular new brand.
