Refundable Tax Credit Cited For Reason The Harrow Movie is On-Location in NC

(Raleigh, NC November 7, 2014) The Harrow, a psychological thriller, full-length feature movie set in

the Southern Gothic/Noir tradition is currently filming on-location in Oxford, Raleigh, and Burlington, North

Carolina. The Writer-Director, Kevin Stocklin and Producer, Matthew Panepinto selected North Carolina

for the films location because of the states 25% refundable tax credit for film and television productions.

    Filming started in Mid-October.

For an independent film like The Harrow, that kind of incentive enabled us to realize our vision and bring

this movie to reality, said Stocklin, North Carolina offered the perfect location settings for this film and

without a doubt, the refundable tax credit sealed the deal for us. We could not have made this film the

way we wanted without the support of the State of North Carolina. Having said that, we spent our budget

here locally and I think weve supported a lot of local businesses along the way. In the end its been great

for both us and for North Carolina.

The Harrows protagonist, Miller Lee (Tom McKay) spends his days in self-imposed solitude in an empty

century-old North Carolina slaughterhouse. He is haunted by visions of Gale (Maggie Geha), a woman he

loved a decade ago, who was murdered. Gales daughter, Ruth (Sonya Harum) is desperate to learn

about her mothers life and death. She is driven to push her way through the dark passages of Millers

psyche and lift the layers of both of their grim pasts in order to untangle a web of deceit and uncover the

    truth.
