•Create a mountain lake scene using watercolor

• Draw a pencil line across the upper third of the paper to represent the horizon, where land and water meet the sky

• Wet the paper (see Ms Freeman or Juliana’s mom or dad)• Mix the paint for the land, mix bright green paint with water on a plate and

paint the bottom third of the paper = grass• Mix the paint for the trees, mix water into the bright green color to dull the

color and paint some trees or bushes above the grass• Mix paint for the lake, rinse the brush and mix blue for the lake behind the

trees up to the pencil line (the horizon). Leave some white spaces/stripes in the lake to look like reflections in the water

• Mix the blue with water to make it weaker (pale blue) for the sky. Paint the entire sky leaving some white areas for clouds

• Mix a pale green blue for the mountains and paint mountains at the horizon of the lake and into the sky.

• Let it dry• Outline the lakeshore, trees, hills and mountain shapes with black felt pen
