The association of nonprofit organizations-lawyers’ formations – the Guild of Russianlawyers is non-state, voluntary, professional,self-governing, nonprofit organization.

rendering organizational, educational-methodological and other kind of aid tothe members of the Guild in order to improve the quality of legal aid they ren-der;

organizing highly professional legal aid rendering concerning most difficulteconomic disputes including corporate conflicts;

organizing highly professional legal aid rendering concerning the preventionand protection from raiding and other unfriendly takeovers;

organizing legal support and consulting concerning big deals, including thosethat concern ownership on Russian assets and real estate purchase;

organizing representation of parties’ interests on all stages of cases concern-ing bankruptcy;

organizing defense and representation of principals’ interests concerning mostdifficult criminal cases in the sphere of economic relations, and representationand defense of interests of legal formations –members of the Guild of russianlawyers concerning their relations with the authorities of the State, public asso-ciations, commercial and non-commercial organizations;

facilitating the development of the Russian advocacy as the institute of civilsociety to help lawyers effectively defend the rights, freedom and legal inter-ests of citizens and organizations;

strengthening the unity of the Russian advocacy, coordination of the Guild of russ-ian lawyers members efforts in the promotion of advocacy and professionallawyers’ skills.

The Guild of russian lawyers is the member of the International Bar Association andother international organizations. It actively cooperates with other all-russian andinternational human rights organizations.

SEPTEMBER 1994The delegates of the All-russian congress of lawyers, the heads of 43 bars- ‘Moscowlegal center’ (G.B. Mirzoev), Saint-Petersburg united bar ( J.A. Iljin), International bar‘Saint-Petersburg’ (A.N. Kotelnikov), Rostov regional bar №2 (J. V. Ermakov), Secondbar of Tchelyabinsk (M. F. Sovkunov), Voronezh interterritorial bar (N.N. Tkachev) andothers) initiated at the All-russian congress of lawyers on 24 September 1994 toestablish the first professional community of bars and lawyers: the Guild of russianlawyers. The creation of the Guild of russian lawyers was greeted and congratulatedby the President of the Russian Federation B.N. Eltsin, Patriarch of Moscow and AllRussia Aleksii II, the Government of the Russian Federation, the Federation Councilof the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, State Duma of the FederationCouncil of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, supremecourts of the country, Prosecutor General’s Office, Ministry of Justice of the RussianFederation, the Government of Moscow and others. From the day of the Guild of russ-ian lawyers establishment, its structure includes the Commission concerning thedefense of lawyers’ rights, that are members of the Guild of russian lawyers, andScientific-advisory council and Expert council.

APRIL 1995The Executive Committee of the Guild of russian lawyers accepted the resolutionconcerning the establishment of the ‘RUSSIAN LAWYER’ magazine.

OCTOBER 1995The Guild of russian lawyers and the Council of Europe with the participation of theMinistry of Justice of the Russian Federation, Ministry of foreign affairs of theRussian Federation and the Department of human rights of the International acad-emy of informatization held the international conference ‘Human rights and the roleof a lawyer in the democratic society’.

FEBRUARY 1996At the enlarged session of the Executive Committee of the Guild of russian lawyersat which other lawyers associations representatives were present, G.B. Mirzoev ini-tiated to establish the GOLD MEDAL by the name of F.N. PLEVAKO as the awardfor lawyers, scientists, public figures and statesmen who contributed enormously tothe development and strengthening of the legal profession in Russia. TheCommittee that awards lawyers’ prizes by F.N. Plevako was established. InFebruary of 1997 the Gold medal by the name of F.N. Plevako as the heraldic signwas registered in the State Heraldic list by the Heraldic Council under the Presidentof the Russian Federation. According to that, Certificate № 06 was given to theGuild of russian lawyers.

OCTOBER 1996The Guild of russian lawyers was accepted to the International Bar Association (IBA).

FEBRUARY 1997The Guild of russian lawyers initiated registering the Central Lawyer’s House in theMoscow Registration Chamber. The aim of its creation was the joining of lawyers to setup their spare-time. The lawyer’s club (recreation center) that is established under theCentral Lawyer’s House has to look into this matter. It sets up relevant activities,

meetings with famous lawyers, politicians, artists. The club has a restaurant ‘Lawyer’where receipts, meetings, banquets are held, weddings and birthdays are celebrated.

APRIL 1997The Hall of Columns of the House of Unions held the first in the history of the russ-ian legal profession Award Ceremony, at which distinguished lawyers, legal prac-titioners and scientists were presented with the Gold medal by the name of the out-standing Russian lawyer F. N. Plevako. The Ceremony participants were greeted bythe President and the Government of the Russian Federation.

JUNE 1997The first issue of the magazine ‘BULLETIN OF THE GUILD OF RUSSIANLAWYERS’ was published.

DECEMBER 1997The Russian Academy of advocacy (RAA) – the first higher educational establish-ment in Russia with the legal profession specialization was registered and startedits work. It was established by the Guild of russian lawyers with the participation ofthe Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation.

FEBRUARY 1998The Guild of russian lawyers with the support of the Federal Union of lawyers ofRussia and with other participating legal associations established and registered indeterminate order the badge ‘HONORARY LAWYER OF RUSSIA’.

APRIL 1998In Moscow in the House of Unions the IInd annual meeting of the Guild of russianlawyers took place. The three-year work was summed up. The meeting was greet-ed by the President, the Government and the State Duma of the RussianFederation, heads of Constitutional, Supreme, Supreme Arbitration courts, Ministryof Justice, Ministry of Interior, Mayor’s office and other institutions and agencies.

OCTOBER 1998With the assistance of the Guild of russian lawyers, professional lawyers of differ-ent specializations, science and public representatives established and registeredthe all-russian public organization ‘LAWYERS PROTECTING HUMAN RIGHTSAND AN ADEQUATE LIFE OF A PERSON’.

13 OCTOBER 1999The Guild of russian lawyers and the Federal Union of lawyers of Russia initiated tohold the first ALL-RUSSIAN CONGRESS OF LAWYERS in the Central state con-cert hall ‘Russia’. The representatives of the bars from all Russian regions and for-eign guests took part in its work. The Congress participants were greeted by thePresident of Russia B. N. Eltsin, the Chairman of the Government of the RussianFederation V.V. Putin, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Aleksii II and other offi-cial persons.

DECEMBER 1999All-russian public organization “Lawyers protecting human rights and adequate lifeof a person” became part of the All-Russian election association “Voice of Russia”as the alliance forming organization concerning the State Duma deputies of the 3rdconvocation election. According to the election results the head of the All-russianpublic organization “Lawyers protecting human rights and adequate life of a per-son”, the President of the Guild of russian lawyers G. B. Mirzoev was electeddeputy of the State Duma of the 3rd convocation and the Chairman of the StateDuma Construction Committee Deputy. That fact promoted the fast considerationand the adoption of the Federal statute ‘Of legal practice and advocacy in theRussian Federation’.

FEBRUARY 2000At the All-Russian meeting of the all-russian legal associations representativesaccording to the recommendations of the first All-russian Congress of lawyers, theCentral Council of lawyers’ associations of Russian Federation was established. Itsaim is to unify all lawyers’ organizations of the country into a single professionalcommunity and to set up self-government institutions of legal profession at the fed-eral level and in the regions of the Federation. Co-chairmen were elected: of theFederal Council of laywers of Russia was elected A. P. Galoganov, of theAssociation of lawyers of Russia – A.N. Malaev, of the Guild of russian lawyers –G.B. Mirzoev.

MAY 2000 ‘Lawyers’ news of Russia’ magazine was established as the organ of the press ofthe Guild of russian lawyers.

APRIL 2001The annual IIIrd congress of the Guild of russian lawyers took place in Moscow inthe Column hall of the House of Unions. The State Duma Construction Committee,the Guild of russian lawyers and the Federal Union of lawyers discussed the con-cept of the bill of advocacy and legal practice.

MAY 2002 Deputy of the State Duma of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation ofthe 3rd gathering G.B. Mirzoev made the report on the meeting of the State Dumaof the Federation Council of the Russian Federation on the draft of the statute oflegal practice and advocacy during the last third reading.

JANUARY 2003 The All-russian congress of lawyers took place in Moscow. For the first time in thehistory of the Russian legal profession the federal self-government institution wasfounded- the Council of the Federal chamber of lawyers of the Russian Federation,it consisted of the representatives of the Guild of russian lawyers: vice-presidents ofthe Guild of russian lawyers – V.S. Igonin, J.A. Iljin, J.A. Kostanov, and the first vice-president of the Guild of russian lawyers E.V. Semenyako was elected president ofthe Federal chamber of lawyers of the Russian Federation.

OCTOBER 2003 In connection with the adoption of the Federal law ‘Of legal practice and advocacyin the Russian Federation’ on 31.05.2002, at the regular IVth congress of the Guildof russian lawyers the Charter of the Guild of russian lawyers was changed and thenew one was approved, the president and the board were elected. The Guild wasregistered as the non-state, voluntary, self-governing, non-profit institution in theform of association (union) of law formations.

DECEMBER 2003At the meeting of the Central council of lawyers’ associations of Russia the pro-posal of the Guild of russian lawyers was accepted. It was supported by the presi-dent of the Federal chamber of lawyers of Russia E.V. Semenyako and other par-ticipants of the meeting- lawyers’ community and members of the Committee con-cerning the awards (co-chairmen of the Central council of lawyers’ associations ofRussia –G. B. Mirzoev and A.P. Galoganov). The proposal concerned the estab-lishment of the SILVER MEDAL by the name of F.N. PLEVAKO to award lawyers,irrespective of length of lawyer’s practice, for the success in certain criminal and civilcases, showing lawyer’s skills and having reached best results. Moreover in thenomination ‘For the outstanding contribution to the unity of the Russian advocacy’the DIPLOMA WITH THE PRESENTATION OF THE BRONZE BUST OF F.N. PLE-VAKO was established.

FEBRUARY 2004The meeting of the full members (academicians), correspondent-members of theRussian Academy of advocacy jointly with the Scientific-advisory and the ExpertCouncil of the Guild of russian lawyers took place. The Presidium of the RussianAcademy of advocacy in number of 13 persons was elected. E.V. Semenyako (thepresident of the Federal Chamber of lawyers of the Russian Federation) was elect-ed President of the Academy, A.P. Galoganov ( the president of the Federal Unionof lawyers of Russia) was elected vice-president, and G.B. Mirzoev ( President ofthe Guild russian lawyers) was elected rector of the Academy.

APRIL 2005The all-russian theoretical and practical conference, dedicated to the 140th anniversaryof the Russian advocacy and to 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Guild ofrussian lawyers, took place in the Column hall of the House of unions. The subject ofthe conference was ‘Problems of further development of legal principles of advocacy’.

MAY 2005In frames of the celebration of the Day of the Russian advocacy for the first time inthe modern Russia , that took place in the Central Lawyers’ House and that wasset up by the Second All-russian congress of lawyers of the Russian Federationthe unveiling of the bronze bust-memorial of F.N. Plevako and the celebration ofthe 10th anniversary of the magazine ‘Russian lawyer’ took place.

JUNE 2006The All-russian scientific conference ‘State and advocacy’ took place in the Columnhall of the House of unions. For the first time in the history of Russian legal profes-sion on the federal level in frames of one ceremony, celebrations, dedicated to theDay of the Russian advocacy and the birthday of the outstanding Russian lawyerF.N. Plevako were united. The most merited representatives of the Russian legalprofession were awarded with Gold medals by the name of F.N. Plevako, and withawards, established by the Federal chamber of lawyers of the Russian Federation.

DECEMBER 2006The Central Lawyers’ House hold the 5th regular congress of the Guild of russianlawyers. The representatives of the Administration of the President of the RussianFederation, members of the Government of the Russian Federation, of theFederation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, of the StateDuma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, of the Public Chamberof the Russian Federation, Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation,Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, and Supreme arbitration court of theRussian Federation, Ministry of Justice, Federal Registration service of Ministry ofJustice of the Russian Federation and other authorities and organizations and for-eign representatives of the Guild of russian lawyers took part in the congress. Thematters of society and state relations and the matters of no less importance thatconcern the prestige of the legal practice improvement, the strengthening of theeffectiveness of the defense of the rights and legal interests of citizens and bodycorporates were discussed, also changes were made in the Charter of the Guild ofrussian lawyers and other standard acts. Along with the President of the Guild ofrussian lawyers G. B. Mirzoev, the President of the Federal Chamber of lawyersE.V. Semenyako, the President of the Federal Union of lawyers of Russia A.P.Galoganov, the President of the Chamber of lawyers of Moscow G.M. Reznik andother outstanding personalities of the legal community spoke at the congress.

FEBRUARY 2007The meeting of the Counsellor of the High Commissioner of the UNO in the RussianFederation Mr. Dzidek Kedzia with the President of the Guild of russian lawyersG.B. Mirzoev took place. Mr. Rashid Aluash, who is in charge of the Management

program of the High Commissioner of the UNO concerning human rights and theemployee of the High Commissioner of the UNO Department concerning humanrights Aleksandra Meveitser also attended the meeting. A number of important mat-ters including human rights protection in the Russian Federation and in legal com-munity was discussed at the meeting. The 35the European conference of the pres-idents of European bars and lawyers’ associations took place in Vienna. The pres-idents of lawyers’ associations of Cyprus, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Macedonia,Spain, England and other countries took part in this annual event, that had becometraditional. From the Russian Federation the President of the Guild of russianlawyers G.B. Mirzoev took part in the conference.

MAY 2007 The regular traditional international conference, that is annually held by the Guild ofrussian lawyers with the participation of other all-russian lawyers’ associations, tookplace at the Crete (Greece). Pressing problems and the state of modern russianadvocacy were discussed at the conference.

SEPTEMBER 2007The Guild of russian lawyers and the Federal union of lawyers with the participationof other all-russian lawyers’ associations held the regular international conferencein Portugal.

OCTOBER 2007The Guild of russian lawyers took part in the regular VIth congress of the All-russ-ian public organization ‘Lawyers protecting human rights and an adequate life of aperson’. Urgent issues that face the Russian society and legal profession, and mat-ters of cooperation with different human rights organizations were discussed at thecongress.

11 DECEMBER 2007Legal and scientific community celebrated the President of the Guild of russianlawyers G.B. Mirzoev’s 60th anniversary. G.B. Mirzoev was greeted and congratu-lated by the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin, Patriarch of Moscowand All Russia Aleksii II, the Head of the Government of the Russian FederationFirst Deputy, candidate for the presidency D.A. Medvedev, the Head of theFederation Council of the Federal Assembly S.M. Mironov, the Head of State Dumaof the Council of Federation of the Russian Federation B.V. Gryzlov, the PublicChamber of the Russian Federation secretary E.P. Velikhov, the mayor of MoscowJ.M. Luzhkov, the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Russian FederationV.D. Zorkin, the Head of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation V.M.Lebedev, Prosecutor –General of the Russian Federation J. J. Tchaika, heads ofother law-enforcement authorities, departments, agencies and organizations.The greetings said that the Guild of russian lawyers had done considerable workin civil society and jural state forming and strengthening. The contribution of thiswork to the preparing and adopting of the statute ‘Of legal practice and advocacyin the Russian Federation’ is inestimable, as the modern Russian legal professionfunctions on the basis of this statute.

JANUARY 2008The Chinese delegation of the court of Guangzhou of Kwangtung province consist-ing of 10 persons headed by the Chairman of the court Mr. Yan Yun paid a businessvisit to the Guild of russian lawyers. During the meeting with the President of theGuild of russian lawyers G.B. Mirzoev, they shared opinions concerning mutualcooperation concerning court system and legislation development in Russia andChina.

FEBRUARY 2008The ambassador of the Dominican Republic Mr. Jorge Luis Perez visited thePresident of the Guild of russian lawyers G.B. Mirzoev. The Dominican Republicextends its trade and economic, touristic and investment relations in Russia and inMoscow particularly. The visit resulted in coming to a decision to have mutual rep-resentation of parties to support tight business and creative relations.

MARCH 2008The Korean delegation paid a business visit to the Guild of russian lawyers and hada meeting with the President G.B. Mirzoev. The ambassador of South Korea to theRussian Federation Mr. Chon Te Ik and ex-ambassador of South Korea to theRussian Federation Mr. Li Gyu Xen, and also the representative of the Guild of russ-ian lawyers in South Korea Mr. Li Sang Xi and the representative of HyundaiCorporation Mr. Pak Chin U took part in the meeting. The parties came to an agree-ment about mutual cooperation.

22 APRIL 2008The Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of advocacy and notary with thesupport of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, Federal notarial cham-ber, Federal chamber of lawyers of Russia, the Guild of russian lawyers, Notarialchamber of Moscow made a decision to reorganize the Russian academy of advo-cacy into the Russian academy of advocacy and notary (RAAN). This decision wascoordinated with the Ministry of education and science of the Russian Federationand was registered in the determinate order. The establishment of the Academy ofadvocacy and notary meets the urgent needs not only in preparing young qualifiedspecialists in the field of advocacy and notary, but in qualification improvement oflawyers and notaries public of the Russian Federation.

APRIL 2008The All-russian conference of lawyers, dedicated to the global issue, put before theRussian public by the President of the Russian Federation- ‘No’ to legal nihilism!’took place in Rostov-on-Don. The conference concerning the matters of Russianjustice and legal profession improvement with the effort of non-governmental organ-izations was timed to the annual solemn ceremony of highest lawyers’ awards bythe name of F.N. Plevako and the Day of Russian legal profession.

MAY 2008The delegation headed by the Special Rapporteur on the independence of judgesand lawyers- Mr. Leandro Despouy visited the Guild of russian lawyers. He wasaccompanied by Dirk Hebecker-OHCHR’s senior human rights Adviser in Moscowand Rashid Aluash, who is in charge of the Management program of the HighCommissioner of the UNO concerning human rights in the Russian Federation.Matters of modern state of legal profession, the pros and cons of the amendmentsthat were to be made to the Federal law ‘Of legal practice and advocacy in theRussian Federation’, facts of professional rights infringements by lawyers, and therole of legal practice in the modern Russian society were discussed.

OCTOBER 2008The Guild of russian lawyers, the Russian academy of advocacy and notary, the All-russian public organization “Lawyers protecting human rights and adequate life ofa person”, Moscow Bureau on Human Rights, Moscow municipal notarial chamber,agency of legal information ‘Man and law’ held theoretical and practical conferenceas the result of the realization of the socially important project ‘I have got the right:improvement of russian justice and legal practice by efforts of non-governmentalorganizations’. The representatives of the Administration of the President of the

Russian Federation, of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation,supreme courts, law-enforcement agencies and justice bodies took part in the con-ference. The Conference summarized the work done and approved the documentthat was aimed at the legal consciousness bringing up, increasing of citizens’ andorganizations’ confidence in judicial system, improving of Russian justice and legalpractice.

24 OCTOBER 2008The regular session of the Executive Committee of the Guild of russian lawyers tookplace. The heads of lawyers’ associations of the Guild of russian lawyers took partin it. Matters concerning tasks and ways of the Guild of russian lawyers work effec-tiveness improvement, work concerning the issue of social immunity of lawyers,matters concerning the position of the Guild of russian lawyers concerning the draftof the Federal law № 55357-5 ‘Of amendments to the Federal law ‘Of legal practiceand advocacy in the Russian Federation’ were discussed.

27 APRIL 2009At the session of the Executive Committee of the Guild of russian lawyers the deci-sion was made to establish THE HIGHEST DECORATION OF THE GUILD OFRUSSIAN LAWYERS ‘FOR THE CONTRIBUTION TO THE DEVELOPMENT OFLEGAL PROFESSION’; the establishment of the award had been reconciled withthe Heraldic Council under the President of the Russian Federation by the decree № A 62-2-348 of 19.07.2009.

24 SEPTEMBER 2009The Central House of scientists of the Russian Academy of sciences held the inter-national conference ‘The role of legal corporate associations in prestige of legalpractice strengthening and the increase of its effectiveness’. The Conference wastimed to the 15th Anniversary of the Guild of russian lawyers and the 20thAnniversary of the bar ‘Moscow legal center’. The Conference and the ceremonialmeeting participants were greeted by the President of the Russian Federation, theGovernment of the Russian Federation, departments, authorities, law-enforcementagencies and courts.

27 APRIL 2010The Guild of russian lawyers, the Federal chamber of lawyers, The Committee thatawards lawyers’ prizes by the name of F.N. Plevako, Federal Union of lawyers ofRussia, Russian Academy of advocacy and notary held the XIV annual solemnCeremony of lawyers’ prizes by the name of F.N. Plevako awards at the StateTheater of the film actor. The outstanding lawyers who had gained much successin defending rights and interests of citizens, scientists, political and public figures,who had contributed enormously to advocacy strengthening were presented at theCeremony with awards by the name of F.N. Plevako.

4 OCTOBER 2010The Central Lawyer’s House held the joint session of the Executive Committee ofthe Guild of russian lawyers and the Coordination council of the All-russian publicorganization “Lawyers protecting human rights and an adequate life of a person”.The representatives and heads of the State Duma of the Russian Federation,Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, the Public chamber of the RussianFederation, Federal chamber of lawyers of the Russian Federation, Federal unionof lawyers of the Russian Federation, presidents of Chambers of lawyers of Russiaand representatives of regional legal organizations took part in the session. Urgentissues were discussed- such as relations of lawyers with authorities and society,attempts concerning government ownership of advocacy, formation of corporateand unified legal community and the matter of cooperation with political parties andthe establishment of public reception rooms to render free legal aid to citizens. The

session resulted in adoption of Resolutions that were sent to the federal stateauthorities.

28 OCTOBER 2010Theoretical and practical conference ‘Access to justice and matters of free legal aid tothe victims of human traffic crimes took place in Moscow. The Conference was set upby the Guild of russian lawyers, All-russian public organization “Lawyers protectinghuman rights and an adequate life of a person”, and Russian Academy of advocacy andnotary jointly with the Moscow bureau of the International migration organization andthe bar ‘Moscow legal center’, the Guild of russian lawyers foreign representatives andrepresentatives of the federal law-enforcement authorities of the Russian Federation.

APRIL 2011The All-russian public organization “Lawyers protecting human rights and an ade-quate life of a person” held the congress in Moscow. The Chairman of theCoordination Council G.B. Mirzoev made the report on the subject “The results ofthe work of the All-russian public organization “Lawyers protecting human rightsand an adequate life of a person” during 2007-2010. The issues concerning theorganization of the election of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly memberscampaign in 2011, the election of the new administration body of the CoordinationCouncil of the All-russian public organization “Lawyers protecting human rightsand an adequate life of a person” and other issues. G.B. Mirzoev was again elect-ed Chairman of the Coordination Council of the All-russian public organization“Lawyers protecting human rights and an adequate life of a person”. Heads of fed-eral and regional legislative, executive and judicial authorities, of law chambers,public and human rights organizations took part in the work of the congress.

27 APRIL 2011The VII regular congress of the Guild of russian lawyers took place in the PresidentHotel in Moscow. Acute matters of state and advocacy relations were looked into,positions and problems of the unification of jurists-entrepreneurs and lawyers on thebasis of the advocacy legislation were looked into; the results of the work of theGuild of russian lawyers during 2007-2010 were drawn, and the governing body ofthe Guild of russian lawyers was reelected. Matters concerning the cooperation ofthe All-russian public organization “Lawyers protecting human rights and an ade-quate life of a person” during the election campaign concerning the members of theState Duma of the Federal Assembly of Russian Federation election in 2011. Thecongress adopted the resolution that concerns the state of advocacy and tasks con-cerning the improvement of its activity, that was sent to the President of theRussian Federation, the Government of the Russian Federation, the Administrationof the President of the Russian Federation, supreme courts, to the ProsecutorGeneral’s Office and the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation.

22–25 SEPTEMBER 2011The international conference concerning the matters ‘Of the legislation of theRussian Federation and the Republic of Abkhazia, cooperation of legal associa-tions of friendly countries in the approach to the common problems of advocacy.The role of advocacy in the justice improvement ’ took place in Sukhumi. The con-ference was set up by the Guild of russian lawyers and the Chamber of lawyers ofthe Republic of Abkhazia. The President of Abkhazia sent the greeting note to theparticipants of the conference. The representatives of lawyers’ associations of morethan 10 regions of the Russian Federation and of all lawyers’ associations of theRepublic of Abkhazia, the head and the chief of the legal department of thePresident’s administration, the Minister of justice, the representatives of theSupreme court, Prosecutor General’s office, rector of the University of the Republicof Abkhazia and others took part in the work of the conference. The conference washighlighted on the central TV and in other mass media. The conference resulted insigning the agreement of cooperation and mutual representation.

24 NOVEMBER 2011Joint session of the Executive Committee of the Guild of russian lawyers and theCoordination council of the All-russian public organization “Lawyers protectinghuman rights and an adequate life of a person” took place in the Central Lawyer’sHouse. The representatives of the Commissioner for human rights in Moscow,Federal chamber of lawyers of the Russian Federation, Federal Union of lawyers ofRussia, presidents of Chambers of lawyers of regions of Russia and representativesof regional legal organizations took part in the session. Number of urgent matterswere discussed, such as the support of the nominated lawyer-candidates fordeputies to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation andto the legislative authorities of the Russian Federation, matters concerning the acti-vation of lawyers’ work in public reception rooms concerning free legal aid render-ing, the condition of the draft of the State program ‘Justice’ for the period of 2012-2020 concerning further development of the institution of Russian advocacy, mat-ters of social immunity of lawyers. The session resulted in the adoption of theResolutions that were sent to the federal state authorities and lawyers’ formationsthat are members of the Guild of russian lawyers.

20 FEBRUARY 2012By the resolution of the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media of the RussianFederation of 20.02.2012 by the representation of the Executive Committee of theGuild of russian lawyers, the magazine ‘Lawyers’ news’ was renamed into‘Lawyers’ news of Russia’, and the President of the Guild of russian lawyers G.B.Mirzoev was established editor in chief.

24 APRIL 2012The Guild of russian lawyers, the Federal chamber of lawyers of the RussianFederation, the Committee that awards prizes by the name of F.N. Plevako, theFederal Union of lawyers of Russia, the Russian Academy of advocacy and notaryplanned to hold the regular XV solemn ceremony of awarding lawyers’ prizes by thename of F.N. Plevako to the outstanding lawyers, who had gained high results indefending the rights and legal interests of citizens, to the scientists, political andpublic figures, who had contributed considerably to the strengthening of the legalprofession.

09–10 JULY 2012The Delegation of the representatives of the legal profession of the AzerbaijaniRepublic headed by the chairman of the Presidium of the Bar of the AzerbaijaniRepublic Azer Djabir ogly Tagiev, who is also the plenipotentiary representative ofthe Guild of russian lawyers in the Azerbaijani Republic. The parties discussed dif-ferent actual matters of mutual interest at the meetings. They were satisfied with thestability of mutual relations that got right during the last years and expressed hopefor further mutually beneficial cooperation.

27 JULY 2012The fund of the support and protection of compatriots rights, living abroad and theGuild of russian lawyers signed the agreement to increase the effectiveness ofthelegal aid rendered to the compatriots living abroad.According to this agreement, the Guild of russian lawyers was endued with the sta-tus of the principal legal partner.

Sitnikov, president of the Chamber of lawyers of the Kirovregion M.N. Kopyrina, president of the Chamber of lawyers of the Republic of MariEl O.O. Poletilo, president of the Chamber of lawyers of the Ryazan region V.P.Ryabov, president of the Chamber of lawyers of the Sverdlov region I.V.Mikhailovich, president of the Chamber of lawyers of the Republic of Tatarstan L.M.Dmitrievskaya, president of the Chamber of lawyers of the Udmurt Republic D.N.Talantov, president of the Chamber of lawyers of the Chuvash Republic J.S.Kruchinin took part in the meeting. Matters of work of the Guild of russian lawyerswere discussed, main goals were set for the present period, and also proposalsconcerning alteration of the functioning Code of the professional ethics of lawyers.

11 DECEMBER 2012Legal and scientific society celebrated the 65th anniversary of G.B. Mirzoev. Headsof state, supreme courts of the state, the General Prosecutor’s Office, FederalSecurity Service of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Home Affairs of the RussianFederation, Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, organs of legal society,chambers of lawyers and law associations sent their congratulations to G.B.Mirzoev. The Council of the State Duma of the Russian Federation conferred uponG.B. Mirzoev the highest decoration- honorary badge of the State Duma of theFederal Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation ‘For the contri-bution in the development of parliamentarism’, the Council of Federation of theFederal Assembly of the Russian Federation awarded G.B. Mirzoev with theGratuity; Association of lawyers of the Russian Federation, The Accounting cham-ber of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Home affairs of the RussianFederation awarded G.B. Mirzoev with diplomas.Greetings and compliments stated that the Guild of russian lawyers under the guid-ance of G.B. Mirzoev had made considerable work concerning the protection oflawyers, that are members of legal formations of the Guild of russian lawyers, rightsand in whole concerning strengthening of the civil society.The magazine ‘Russian Reporter’ issued the special number dedicated to 100 mostauthoritative persons of Russia. 17–19 DECEMBER 2012The president of the Guild of russian lawyers G.B. Mirzoev took part in the VIIIthConvention of the judges of the Russian Federation.
