Dear Friends,
I am really looking forward to spending Lent, Holy Week and Easter in the Forest South Deanery this year with a mix of sharing with individual parishes, teaching and some wider deanery engagement.
I certainly don’t want to detract in any way from what is already planned in local parishes but rather to offer, especially where there is no local provision, the opportunity to explore further the deep riches of this season to renew our walk with Christ.
During Lent I will be visiting a number of parishes for morning worship. On three afternoons I will be offering some teaching in preparation for our observance of Holy Week, that we may be ready to make the journey with Christ to the Cross. We will prepare to enter the darkness, that we may be able to fully comprehend the wonder of Easter as we light the new fire and greet the risen Christ, finding in him that life in abundance we are promised.
I hope very much that you will be able to be part of this journey with me and I look forward with excitement and anticipation to the journey ahead.
Bishop Robert
