THE OUTREACH
“I beseech you
therefore, brethren, by
the mercies of God,
that ye present your
bodies a living sacrifice,
holy, acceptable unto
God, which is your rea-
sonable service.
And be not con-
formed to this world:
but be ye transformed
by the renewing of
your mind, that ye may
prove what is that
good, and acceptable,
and perfect, will of
God....”

Homecoming 2013 When you think about homecoming, the first thing that
comes to mind is food, family, and fellowship. The word
“Home” derives from more than just a physical place but more
like a continuum of memories, feelings, and experiences. It is
a circle of life filled with triumphs and trials. Home is a library
full of dreams, disappointments, failures, successes, and
achievements. Home is a fixed and portable concept that has
to be revisited every now and then.
On the 4th Sunday in August, Mt. Sinai celebrated its
homecoming. Families came back “home” to revisit their
memories and the history that have been imprinted in their
lives. Mt. Sinai was first established in 1874 and was pas-
tored by many, including the late Rev. George W. Manning.
Mt. Sinai has been under the leadership of Rev. W. L. Moody
for 6 years now. A powerful word was delivered at the 11 a.m.
worship service followed by the festivities of food and fellow-
ship. The body of Christ made a decision to take it back “to
the old days” and make it a traditional fellowship. The festivi-
ties took place outdoors and included the traditional “Sunday
Feast.” Submitted by: Kenise Ford

A Call To Live Holy
Welcoming One of Our Own to the Ministry “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and
before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed
you a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5
On September 8th, 2013, a powerful message entitled
“Staying Connected to God” was delivered by our very
own Minister Terrell Glenn. His message was based
around the familiar story of Job and the trials and tribula-
tions of his life. Just like Job in the Bible, Minister Glenn
has vowed to stay committed to God no matter the ob-
stacles put in front of him. During his sermon, he gave
points and backed them up with not only biblical refer-
ences but examples of people throughout the course of
the Bible. His message was blessed and inspirational to
everyone in attendance. Our dear friend Reverend San-
dra Draper stated, “Minister Glenn is a seasoned minis-
ter of the word of God.” Minister Glenn is only nineteen
years of age and is living proof that God is still calling
disciples to carry out his work on this side of heaven. We
encourage you to join in welcoming and congratulating
Minister Terrell Glenn on accepting the call given by
God. Submitted by: Dre’mon Miller

Construction is a process of
working to make something bet-
ter. We are under construction
and sometimes from our own
point of view construction looks
like a big mess. In our life when
God is at work in developing us
the construction process some-
times hurt, but with God the
plan is always to heal and make
better. God is making renova-
tions in our life, church and
community. He is still working
on us replacing old habits and
old ways of thinking. We are a
work in progress and I believe
God is not destroying but build-
ing us up to be better. We can
have confidence that God's end
results will bring a better rela-
tionship with one another. The
construction process may not
be pretty, smooth or exciting,
but trusting God always gives
p o s i t i v e r e s u l t s .
Jesus came and did a new
thing and the construction pro-
ject took some time. It reads in
the bible that Jesus had some
troubles teaching salvation
through his life, death and res-
urrection. The renovation took
some time, the construction
was often messy, but God pre-
vailed.

Expressing The Enjoyment Of Returning To School
Back 2 School
We are all excited to say that a new school year has begun for the youth at Mt. Sinai Bap-tist Church. We have all ages of youth going into preschool, elementary, middle and high school! Our youth is striving to the best of their ability to make it through the school year and to make excellent grades. With the help of the Young Adult Ministry and congregants at Mt. Sinai encouraging them every step of the way, we know they can achieve all of their goals. We are putting the youth in God’s hands while they are at school. We are praying for everyone’s safety knowing that angels will be protecting not only our youth but the whole school from hurt, harm and danger. Our youth will succeed! It’s just a matter of time until they say, "I did it!” and are walking across the stage to receive their individual diplo-mas. Some of the youth were asked what goals they have for the school year and this is what they had to say:
Responses
Samia Ross: "Make good grades" Tia Neblett: "Do good, be smart and not get in trouble"
Ahmya Clarke-Johnson: “Be a math champion” Heaven Ross: “Get all good grades” Jibril Clarke: “To walk—graduate” DeVont’e Miller: “Graduate and to play a successful season of sports”

Getting Rid of Dandruff
Did you know that changing your deodorant can cause dandruff to worsen? Dandruff which is also known as seborrhea is a common form of skin eczema that occurs in parts of the body with a high oil (sebum) production. Here are 3 tips to help get rid of dandruff:
1. Shampoos: They can be brought over the counter and here are some clue medicated substances to look for in sham-poos.
Zinc pyrithione (located in Head and Shoulders Shampoo) Selenium sulfide (located in Selsun blue Shampoo) Ketoconazole (located in Nizoral shampoo) You can use them all the time or twice a week to get rid of the dan-druff.
2. Creams. Two additional types of medications creams that assist with dandruff are cortisone and antifungal creams.
Cortisone creams reduce inflammation. You can buy them over
the counter in either 0.5% or 1% concentrations. They are safe to use on the face and will often help in just a couple of days when applied twice daily.
Antifungal Creams - are often effective, apparently because
they reduce the number of yeast organisms living on the skin. Antifungal creams also are applied once or twice a day.
3. If none of these solutions work, then a doctor is recom-
mended. Hopefully these tips will enhance your beauty. Submitted by: Atiesha Miller
