So your taking some time out from your regular home life and you’ve decided to jet off to somewhere for an adventure. One place to stop of on your travels has to be New York City, known as one of the four fashion capitals of the world, alongside Paris, Milan and London. It’s the city where you get the feeling that anything could happen. You could describe it as the shopaholics’ paradise as the fashions available are never ending.

Your Personal Travel Guide...

Bloomingdales stands as a great institution with a great exchange rate, you can’t pass up on the bargains to will find. If you’ve seen Friends, you’ll understand the appeal even more.

Tiffany’sOk so less to do with clothing more to do with just living the dream, take yourself to Tiffany’s, nothing to say you have to purchase anything. Just enjoy the experience for what it is. All you need to remember is try to avoid peak trading times and make a trip to the cafe for that breakfast at Tif-fany’s experience. Be Audrey Hepburn for the day. Go on, you know you want to.

Whilst you’re in midtown hitting Tiffany’s, make sure to keep time put aside to venture into the big designer stores. Burberry, Chanel, Yves Saint Lau-rent and Louis Vuitton are all along 57th Street. Even if it’s not to make a purchase take the time to look around the wonderful stores and take in the amazing window displays.

New York has such a long history of style that you have got to expect a lot of vintage items floating about, just waiting to be snapped up. Head to 31st Avenue, Astoria for the fabulous vintage store, LoveDay 31. Mainly stocking pieces from the ‘80s, but ‘60s mod and ‘70s disco also can be found here. Another fantastic vintage store is Screaming Mimi’s, Sex and the City stylist Patricia Field is a huge fan of the store, so you know you’re on to a winner.

Now, less to do with designers, more to do with where to get what you want for the least possible price. The world famous Century 21 is where you want to go, located in downtown Manhattan if you want discounted designer goods, head here.

There is so much to do in New York it’s hard to find the time to fit everything in, one place that can’t be missed is Macy’s. Known as the world’s largest store, how could you not venture inside? Also if you get chance head there over the thanksgiving period in America to check out the spectacular parade they have on just outside. Macy’s has nine floors to explore, so from experi-ence you need to sideline a day just for this one store.

One thing you need to do whilst in New York, is go to a classic American Diner and get an all American break-fast, one place which is amazing for doing just this is called, The Brooklyn Diner on 212 West 57th Street be-tween Broadway and 7th Avenue is famously known for its breakfast, the amount of pancakes they can fit on one plate, just for one will astound. Also if ordering one of there amazing milkshakes, be warned it could probably go round about 5 people. So worth it though.

Another thing to remember is to think about footwear you will be taking, as you’ll be exploring a lot of the city on foot, as Hayley (our model) found out after all she packed were five-inch heels. But each to there own. New York is known as one of the greatest walking cities, venture around it’s great open spaces, for example, Cen-tral Park is a great place to be in the winter time. If your lucky like we were you may get to ice skate for free.

New York is an absolutely amazing city, it can either be considered as one of the most overwhelming and chaotic places youv’e seen or you can just relax, take it all in and it can turn out to be one of the most warmest, romantic cities youv’e ever been to.

Also don’t forget to get an I heart NY t-shirt, a must have neccessity, not just for the fashion but simply for the sentimental value.Have a great time.

The Review ContributersNicki Minaj-Pink Friday

Nicki Minaj is pretty new on to the hip-hop scene but she has already put her stamp on it. Accompanied by the likes of Lil Wayne, Eminem, Kanye West and Rihanna. She is in good company and already has a large fan base because of this. Songs to watch out for on this album are her col-laboration with Rihanna “Fly” and “Blazin” an amazing song featuring Kanye West.

Glee The music - The christmas album

Just an album you have to have over the festive period, featuring songs such as “O Holy Night” and “Jingle Bells”. It is an album that is certain to get you in the Christmas spirit. Whether your a Glee fan or not, it is an album you can’t help enjoy and sing a long to.

Rihanna- Loud

Loud is Rihanna’s fifth album and could quite possibly be her best yet. Every song is louder than the next, one song definetly to skip straight to is part II of “love the way you lie”, her collaboration with Eminem clearly documenting her experiences of being in a volatile relationship with Chris Brown. You can’t help but want to have this album on repeat and listen to all the songs again and again.

Nelly Furtado- The best of

10 years ago Nelly Furtado stormed on to the music scene with the smash hit “I’m like a bird” since then she has had numerous amounts of top ten hits including collaborations with Timberland. Including hits such as “Maneater” and “say it right”. You’ll forget how much Nelly Furtado has contributed to the music industry and every song you will enjoy more than the one before.

I’ve been travelling for over 5 months now, visiting Thailand, New Zealand and then heading over to the UK to stay with family. After leaving the UK and heading towards to Europe for the La Tomatina festival(basically thousands of tomatos get dropped off in this small vil-lage and atleast 9000 people turn up to have this awesome tomato fight.) held in Valencia, which by the way is amazing and something I think everyone needs to experience. After this I headed over to France which is where this incident I’m about to tell you about happened, I’d met this guy in a bar and ended up spending a few days with him. One night we were walking back from a bar to my apartment and we decided to take a short cut through this field. Now I’d been with the same guy for the past 5 years before I went travelling so I’m not the best at flirting, but here’s what happens when I attempt to, I’m walking along with this gorgeous guy and somehow manage to trip up, fall over and grab the first thing I can to stop myself hitting the ground. Which turns out to be an electric fence, making so much noise, I not only scare this great guy but I scare all the sheep in the field, which start running away. For the rest of the way home, this guy had to help me walk and lets just say I haven’t spoken to him since, but hey plenty more stories to come from me as I don’t plan on stopping travelling for a good few years, or forever if thats at all possible.

P.S. Live by my life’s motto and you’ll never go wrong:You must stay on your own when it comes to love, If you have the will, the desire and are destined to be together, nothing will be able to keep you apart. When it comes to falling in love, no chase, no obsession, no trying to hard. Just let it be.
