The Future of Vehicle Safety

The Future of the vehicle safety appears to be one of the biggest concerns for both consumers and the automotive

industry.

In today’s technological world, the best advancement coming down the line is that the automotive industry is

constantly developing new technologies for safety.

These technologies offer many of benefits such as saving lives, reducing crashes, decreasing congestion, minimizing

fuel consumption, and to prevent multitasking for the unpredictable and unreliable human driver.

Safety Technologies That Improves Vehicle Safety

The automotive industry and the U.

S government are focusing on researching technology that would enable all future vehicles to communicate with each other to warn them of their surroundings and avoid future

accidents.

The developing technology is called Vehicle-to Vehicle

(V2V).

This V2V technology is being tested by major automotive makers such as Ford to help reduce traffic accidents on the

road.

Imagine a driver was in rush and ran a red light, the oncoming traffics doesn’t see them at first, but V2V sent out signal from other vehicle directly in its path, and it

warns you of the potential collision and crash from happening.

Another interesting technology for vehicle safety that automotive industry is currently developing is called

augmented reality dashboards.

Image the GPS and other in car displays that get us from point A to point B, some luxury, and high end vehicles have

their displays built and are projected on the windshield.

Future vehicles will be able to display all external objects and list all the information about them right on the

windshield.

The augmented reality dashboards are connected to the GPS system to warn the driver of nearby hazardous

conditions and potential collisions.

It also could detect various animals coming to the road, and help prevent accidents from happening.

Vehicle Safety - Airbags

Since airbags has been developed, it has continued to make their way around the inside of many vehicles.

Vehicles now have curtain airbags, side airbags, knee airbags, seat belts airbags, and even one that deploys

underneath the seat.

This improves the vehicle safety of many newer cars and trucks.

Now Mercedes-Benz is developing a new way of vehicle safety measures that makes it a part of an active safety

system.

Mercedes is experimenting with air bags that can help stop cars, which It will deploy underneath of the car to stop the

car in time before a crash.

A sensor will determine that the impact is inevitable.

The airbag has a friction coating, which increases the vehicle’s stopping power.

Also the airbag will lift the car eight centimeters, which it will counter the vehicle’s dipping motion during hard

braking, and improves direct impact and helps prevent the passenger from sliding under the seatbelt.

There have been many improvements to vehicle technology over the years as car manufactures implement these new

changes.

These improvements have come a long way to enhance vehicle safety for drivers and passengers.
