BUILDING A CLEAN ENERGY FUTURE FOR NATURAL GAS

Electric generation: Low-cost natural gas is enabling our transition from coal and helping integrate more wind and solar energy for a cleaner power grid.

Customers: We can help customers reduce their emissions by offering them more conservation, advanced technology and greener supply options.

Our delivery system: Through our pipeline improvement projects and participation in voluntary methane reduction programs, we operate the cleanest delivery system possible.

Producers and suppliers: We can encourage transparency and action from our natural gas suppliers.

Providing options: More than 200,000 customers participate in renewable choice programs, and in 2019, customers completed nearly 4.5 million energy efficiency projects.

Spurring innovation: The advanced grid technology we're installing will improve reliability and security, storm response, efficiency and customer options.

Supporting local business: More than 70% of our purchasing is with local businesses.

Creating opportunity:We spent $486 million in 2019 with businesses owned by women, minorities or veterans.

Building prosperity:Through economic development partnerships, we helped attract 18 new businesses to our service area in 2019, resulting in over 1,100 jobs and $374 million in investment for communities.

WORKING WITH US

Being there: In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we donated $1.5 million for disaster relief, which is part of at least $20 million in short- and long-term giving that we're planning to help our communities recover.

Ensuring safety: 89% of employees agree their safety is a top priority for us — the highest rated attribute on our employee engagement survey.

Giving to communities: Employees volunteered nearly 82,000 hours in 2019 and served on 500 community boards.

Expanding our talent: Of newly hired employees in 2019, 96% were local, 23% were ethnically diverse and 10% were veterans, and we provided internship opportunities to more than 350 students.

Managing change: We partner with communities facing coal plant closures to help attract new business and retain tax base, while also supporting a responsible transition for employees through advanced notification, relocation and retraining.
