Laoise Kelly is a traditional Irish harper from Westport, Co. Mayo. Since hermusical journey began she has been involved in more than 50 recordings withartists as varied as Steve Cooney, Sinéad O'Connor, The Chieftains and KateBush. But one of the highlights of her recording career is the remarkable albumThe Wishing Well, made with fiddle player Michelle O'Brien, from Toonagh, Co.Clare. Michelle learned her music from acclaimed teacher Frank Custy, andsubsequently with legendary Tommy Peoples, and Tommy's daughter Siobhán.Michelle has an All-ireland Fiddle title and Pan-Celtic Fiddle title to her credit,teaches at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance in Limerick, andperforms at many Festivals throughout Ireland and Europe.

Emer Mayock (flute)Mick O'Brien (uillean pipes)Aoife Ní Bhriain (fiddle)Thursday 25th August @ 8.00pmEmer Mayock is a musician and composer from Co. Mayo. A multi-instrumentalist,she has produced two albums: Merry Bits of Timber and Playground, the lattercomprising mostly her own compositions. Mick O'Brien was born in Dublin,and started playing the pipes at 9. Since then he has performed with the likesof The Dubliners, Frankie Gavin and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra. Joining themon stage is Mick's daughter Aoife Ni Bhriain, an amazing fidlle player whorecently won the Seán Ó Riada Traditional Fiddle competition. This talentedtrio have joined forces to explore the wealth of music contained in the seminalGoodman Manuscripts, a treasure trove of Munster melodies collected in the1880s, and bringing the collection into an exciting 21st century context.

Born in London, John Carty has established himself among the elite of Irishtraditional musicians.With three solo fiddle albums, two banjo albums, two groupalbums and a sprinkling of recorded tenor guitar and flute music recordings underhis belt, it's no surprise John was awarded the Irish-language television stationTG4's Traditional Musician of the Year in 2003. A musician in demand at majorinternational festivals John regularly plays with a variety of our finest musicians,including legendary reformed super-group Patrick Street, so we eagerly await tosee who will join him on the night!

Geesala native Joe Carey is one of Mayo's best-loved musicians. Joe has beenplaying traditional music both in Ireland and overseas for many years and hasrecorded a number of albums, most notably Live at Lenehans with the late legendaryfiddle player Paddy Mills and guitarist Pat Egan. He is joined on the night by SeamusÓ Mongáin, from the Erris Gaeltacht, a well known performer and teacher who hasappeared on many radio and TV programmes including Céili House, Geantraí andTG4's Gradam Ceol. Performing with them is Belmullet native Liam McGonigle, theyoungest musician in the series. He's been playing accordion since age six and nowat the ripe old age of 17 joins his fellow musicians on the night for some "reel"Mayomagic!

Harry Bradley was born in West Belfast. With influences going back to traditionalrecordings of the 1920s, Harry has recorded three solo flute CDs, and collaborationswith Paul O'Shaughnessy, Jesse Smith and John Blake. Joining Harry will behighly respected piper Tommy Keane. Tommy was born in Waterford City and tookup the uilleann pipes in his 20s. His debut CD The Piper's Apron brought him towider attention, as have collaborations with Jacqueline McCarthy, Tommy McCarthyand Alec Finn. And adding to tonight's mix is sean nós dancer Seosamh ÓNeachtain. Hailing from An Spidéal, Co. Galway, Seosamh has received bothnational and international acclaim and has performed with some of the mostinfluential acts in Traditional Irish dance music: Altan, De Danann and MairtínO'Connor.

Julie Langan (fiddle)Verena Commins (accordion)Pádraig Ó Broin (guitar)Thursday 11th August @ 8.00pm

Verena was born in Coventry, of parents from Ballina and Bohola, and Juliecomes from Newport so both musicians have their roots in County Mayo. Bycoincidence they both ended up living in Galway where they played togetherfrequently. Verena's accordion playing and Julie's fiddle playing have, overtime, combined into a perfect musical rapport of 'tight and tasty' playing of thefinest kind. They will be joined by Castlebar man Pádraig Ó Broin, a virtuosoguitarist who featured on that illustrious album and whose guitar style providesthe perfect accompaniment.

Danny Diamond is a photographer and musician from Dublin. His photographic work is primarilyin black and white and aspires to what the great American photographer Walker Evans called a'lyric documentary' style. Danny's work on Irish Traditional Music has been exhibited in Irelandand in the United States and this exhibition is from an ongoing project, documenting and followingIrish traditional music in its continual evolution and flux.
