The Fife Pain Management service (FPMS) is seeking a highly effective and skilled lead clinician to manage the pain service. As the pain service lead, your role will be to lead the strategic delivery and development of the Pain Management service, and work closely with the service manager and Consultant lead. You will also ensure we are a service that responds to national policy, initiatives and clinical governance.

You will be an excellent communicator with well developed management skills and excellent leadership qualities. You will also be a forward thinking team player, with a proven track record of innovative approaches in pain management. An exciting 6 month secondment opportunity for an existing band 6 to undertake a Band 7 Senior Charge Nurse position within the inpatient areas at Queen Margaret Hospital has arisen. This is an ideal opportunity to be involved in supportive Quality Improvement

You will work within a specialist team of multidisciplinary staff to further progress patient experience ensuring the provision of a safe, effective person centred environment for patients, families, careers and staff. Leadership, service improvement, a passion for staff development and excellent communication skills will be essential for this role.

The inpatient areas consist of 2 Rehabilitation Wards and a HBCC/ Complex Discharged Ward with a total of 80 beds. We work as part of a large Multi Disciplinary Team providing a comprehensive, individualised program of care to all of our patients.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and innovative candidate to work as an Advanced Acute Frailty Nurse Practitioner within our Integrated Assessment Team at the front door. Early identification, effective assessment and management of frailty have been identified as significant priorities for NHS Fife to optimise patient outcomes. The Integrated Assessment team is a rapidly developing multidisciplinary team which provides comprehensive assessment for patients who are identified as having frailty syndromes to ensure effective identification of patient pathways and destination of care is reached in a timely manner. You should be a registered Nurse with significant acute care and frailty experience with a passion for working with older people and a keen desire to develop within this dynamic service. Non medical prescribing and clinical decision making qualifications are an ultimate requirement for this post and you will be expected to work towards obtaining these skills.

You should have evidence of significant post registration professional practice experience to undertake and fulfil the key areas for this post including completion of relevant postgraduate courses to masters degree level, or working towards master degree level or ability to demonstrate working at masters degree level appropriate to clinical area.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioners who already possess the Non medical prescribing and clinical assessment skills qualifications. We will however consider staff with suitable experience of working within this scope of practice, who have a desire to develop and become an advanced Nurse Practitioner through completion of the above qualifications. During this time you will be paid in accordance with Annex 21 arrangements for pay and banding of trainees.

This post will be based within Integrated Assessment Team who provide cover in Admissions Unit 1 which comprises 37 beds and 7 Assessment trolleys, but the team provide support to all front door areas, i.e. Emergency Department and Surgical Admissions Unit.

Trainees are paid a percentage of the pay band maximum for the qualified rate which is dependent on the duration of the training period (see terms and conditions in job pack).

EMERGENCY CARE DIRECTORATE – ADMISSIONS UNIT ONE ACUTE MEDICINE

TEMPORARY FOR 6 MONTHS, HOURS OF WORK 37.5/34.5 HOURS PER WEEK

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy for an enthusiastic senior registered nurse who is keen to enhance and develop their management and clinical skills in a Charge Nurse position.

The candidate should have a commitment to acute medicine, patient centred care and supporting effective team working. The post holder will be responsible for providing clinical leadership, supporting the management of the nursing team and driving forward change within Admissions Unit One. The post holder will be expected to ensure safe and effective care that enhances the patient experience and contributes to the delivery of the organisation's objectives. The post holder must have post registration experience within an acute clinical setting and be able demonstrate clinical and professional practice development through experience and theoretical knowledge. They must understand the complexities of caring for individuals with acute and chronic medical illnesses. Admissions Unit One consists of 37 inpatient beds and an Acute Assessment Unit. As a Charge Nurse you will be expected to have an overview of both of these areas and support the coordination of capacity and flow. We work closely with many multidisciplinary teams and they assist us with enhanced discharge planning.

We are proud to act on and make changes to our Unit based on patients and relatives experience and feedback. Ensuring patients feel safe, informed, involved and welcomed is at the heart of what we aim to achieve as a team.

This post is full time, 37.5 hour per week predominantly worked over 3 weekdays/nights with weekend working. There is also an opportunity to cover the duty charge nurse rota.

The Community Rehabilitation Mental Health Team will provide a community mental health service for a defined patient group, this includes those with complex needs who have a severe and enduring mental illness and including individuals with drug/alcohol problems. They will have possible cognitive and physical problems linked with long-term illness and medication. They may lack life skills and show poor role functioning in many areas.

Expressions of interest are invited from Band 5/6 Mental Health Nurses who are motivated by this exciting challenge. The successful candidate will be innovative and creative, they must be forward thinking with a positive attitude to work within this evolving service. You will work closely with the Team Leader, Lead Nurse and multi-disciplinary team to develop services that are highly functioning, fit for purpose and provide an excellent standard of rehabilitation care. The Case Manager role requires you to be able to provide clear clinical leadership, carry out a variety of assessments and plan and implement programmes of therapeutic intervention that meet the needs of the individual. You will supervise care and treatment delegated to junior staff and will be responsible for providing regular clinical and caseload supervision.

Ward 41 is a 21 bedded Acute and early rehabilitation Stroke Unit.  The unit offers a 24/7 specialised stroke care with challenges of delivering, in a timely manner, evidence based care that is of the highest quality. 

You are required to have and be first level registered and educated to degree level or equivalent with significant post registration experience.

You will help drive local and national practice developments and demonstrate a commitment to leading person centred, safe and effective care. To enable delivery of a positive experience of care for those persons who require this level of Inpatient care. You will be required to work flexible shifts including days, nights and weekends. As part of the Emergency Care Directorate you will be given the opportunity to fulfill the role of Duty Charge Nurse for the directorate on a rotational basis.

Letham is a 14 bedded stroke rehabilitation unit with the community setting. We are looking to appoint a nurse with a passion for delivering excellent standards of care.

You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. As part of the multi-disciplinary team you will work closely within the stroke services and also have regular contact with other specialities within the hospital and community setting. You will have the opportunity to learn and develop specialist skills in the assessment and care of the stroke patient. You will be supported in your role with ongoing training which includes the completion of specific stroke care competencies.

You will be expected to deputise for the Team Lead in their absence therefore experience of staff supervision/management would be beneficial. There will be an expectation to participate in clinical audit, quality improvement, in-service training, and evidence based practice. There will also be an expectation to undertake the clinical supervision and appraisals of more junior staff as well as lead the supervision and development of undergraduate/pre-reg students. In addition, you will facilitate your group during student-led “agents of change” projects and teach your students during a bespoke “patient journey / emergency care” block for six weeks at the end of second year. An extensive staff development programme is included in the induction period.

You will be a self-motivated, practicing GP, working in or willing to work at least two GP clinical sessions in an approved ScotGEM host GP practice; either in an existing role or as a salaried GP. We are looking to welcome a LAS GPST or Locum Specialty Registrar ST1 to join an enthusiastic, motivated and supportive Emergency Department team from 6 th

February 2019 until 6th August 2019. You will work in the Emergency Department at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy, which opened in 2012. The department has an annual attendance of 65000.

The department includes an 8 bay resuscitation area, a 9 bay majors area, a 6 bay minors area and 2 paediatric consulting rooms. There is a dedicated Procedures room and a 6 bedded Emergency Medicine Observation Unit which admits primarily toxicology and head injury patients. There is access to electronic pathology and radiology ordering. Departmental guidelines, protocols and rotas are on the departmental intranet web pages. We perform well in key areas such as sepsis, stroke thrombolysis and compliance with the 4 hour target.

The Emergency Department has 24 hour senior doctor presence, (13 Consultant Emergency physicians 11.35 WTE) with current shop floor consultant presence daily from 0800 to 2300. We have 4 GPwSI who deliver regular sessions in evenings and at weekends. There are daily ENP sessions to help with the minors flow.

There is a co-located GP OOH service in the evenings and at weekends, allowing redirection of appropriate patients. A formal redirection policy is in operation.

There is a 24 hour ENP-led Minor Injuries Unit Located at Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline which is clinically supported by the senior doctors in the Emergency Department.

Millhill Surgery is based in the historic town of Dunfermline with easy access to the motorways to Perth, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

We work from purpose built premises. We are looking to recruit a GP to cover maternity leave from the beginning of January 2019 until the end of August 2019. These dates are negotiable and the post has the potential to be extended. The GP going on leave covers 8 sessions per week over 4 days.

This position may offer newly qualified GPs an opportunity to work in a supported environment to experience regular work whilst also exploring other opportunities. Our list size is approximately 9000 using EMIS and Docman. We have advanced nurse practitioners seeing out minor illness who support our GPs who are on 15 minute appointments.
