Now that it's my turn to be called President, I wish to take this first opportunity to write a president's letter to say thank you to Gary Pierotti for his fine work during this past year (and two months to be exact). Under Gary's guidance, we were able to finally get our calendar year and fiscal year aligned and also were able to make some other adjustments to the bookkeeping system, all of which will make this job much easier. Wendy and our accountant did a great job facilitating that transition. Gary also brought in some great speakers to our membership meetings, with some help from Fran Faxon, which provided us with information we couldn't normally get elsewhere. We have had some really productive membership meetings this past year and I hope to keep that spirit alive this year. Thanks also to the nominating committee for putting together a cooperative slate of officers for this coming year. I appreciate the camaraderie among the board members which makes for a can-do atmosphere. I am looking forward to this year knowing we have good people volunteering their time for the benefit of our build-ers association. Call me anytime if you want to help with our efforts here at the LOABA. Looks like this could be a turn-around year and I look forward to serving as your president during 2014! Here we go!! Daniel A.
