Example – Detroit is south of Southfield. Troy is north of Southfield.

Place The island of Maui is located in the Pacific, it has a tropical climate, it has mild trade winds, and it is forested.

RegionA region is an area that shares a

common characteristic or feature.

For example, the Great Lake states.

MovementHow people, ideas, and goods

move from one location to another

Human/environment interactionHow people affect or change the earth.
