Prayer of Invocation/Confession
Our Sovereign Lord and Redeemer, as we
enter this blessed season of Advent,
we rejoice at Your grace and love,
which provided for us a Savior. We
are so grateful to know the Savior as
a real and living presence in our lives.
Forgive us when we take this
remarkable gift for granted. Forgive
us when we act like nothing took
place in Bethlehem or at Calvary. We
thank You today because Advent is
not simply a time to recall past
events but to prepare for that great
and glorious event which is to come.
The Suffering Servant will return as
Lord of Lords and King of Kings! By
the help of the Holy Spirit, may these
days of preparation, change our
hearts and lives. We ask all of this in
the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
I was glad when they said unto me,
"Let us go into the house of the Lord!"

OFFERTORY PRAYER
Gracious Heavenly Father, giver of
eternal life and giver of all blessings,
we offer You the love of our hearts.
We offer You the praise of our lips.
We offer You the results of our labor
as an expression of our worship.
Thank You for all the good news You
communicate to our hearts through
the coming of Jesus Christ to be our
Savior. We give our tithes, mission
gifts and sacrificial offerings to You
today. Please accept them, and bless
them, and use them. We pray this in
our Savior's name. Amen.
But store up for yourselves treasures
in heaven… For where your treasure
is, there will your heart be also.

Today is the First Sunday of Advent. We are to keep watch, wait and
expect Christ to come in His glory. We are to keep our eyes open and live
in hope. We are like servants expecting their master to return very soon.
We should do all we can do, where we can do it. The church must watch
and wait in hope. The church has been empowered to serve the One who
was, and is, and is to come. Let us be faithful to our duties day by day,
not knowing when the Master will come.

Our Stewardship Months: October, November and December, 2013
Our Stewardship Goal: $150,000.00 (Thank you for giving $85,000.00 in October, 2012)
I shared my concerns at our church meeting in September. Please pray for God's work within this faith community as
you discern how you will support this ministry. Prayer is perhaps the most effective way for us to increase our faith and bring us into closer communion with our God.
Pray and ask God to use you. I am committed to joyfully leading our church in accomplishing our goal.
