Welcome Note

Artificial Intelligence algorithms particularly deep learning, have recently gone through significant advances, more prominently in the field of medical imaging to facilitate image-centric diagnosis. AI enhanced automation has changed most of the clinical radiological decision by relying on digital information rather than subjective decisions. Medical images associated with the clinical interpretation have resulted in significant developments in medical research. So, efforts are taking place to facilitate advancement of AI in medical imaging. The common applications of AI in medical imaging include optimized protocol design, big data analytics based on image content, quantitative feature extraction from medical images, medical imaging informatics, radiomics and hardware improvement to achieve higher image quality.

Clinical applications of AI in real radiology practice may bring higher accuracy, reduced time and reproducibility of the services by the change from qualitative to quantitative assessments.

Artificial Intelligence in Medical Imaging Network (AIMIN) has been established to promote education and research in the field of AI by interdisciplinary collaborations. National Brain Mapping Lab holds the first national meeting on AI in Medical Imaging on Nov 2-5, 2019. The conference in enriched by contribution of world known experts to overview the current status of this rising technology.

We warmly welcome all professionals and researches in the field of engineering and medical imaging to this pioneering event.

Mohammad Reza Ay, Director, National Brain Mapping Lab
