www. fbc inve r nes s . com steps to you. Pray for them as they continue to work and pray and seek God’s man for this es-sential ministry position. Sharon and I love y’all! It’s hard for us to believe, but 10 years ago this month I preached for the first time at FBC in our old downtown location! It has been an amazing journey! We look forward to many more years together as we follow after Christ! Blessings, Donnie
July in Inverness is a won-derful and special time! There is nothing quite like being gath-ered at Liberty Park with thou-sands of others right smack in the middle of the “Most Patri-otic Small Town in America”!! The fireworks are awesome and just wandering around the park, seeing friends from FBC and around the community, listen-ing to music and of course find-ing some good stuff to eat….it all makes for a memorable and beautiful evening. July at FBC is pretty exciting and eventful as well! Sunday July 6th will be a great day of celebration and fellowship and food. The Worship Choir will present a short patriotic musical in the 10:30 service and immedi-ately after the service we will enjoy our annual church wide cook-out! Hotdogs, hamburg-ers, and lots of other good stuff along with good friends and fellowship will make for a fit-ting Independence Day celebra-tion! VBS is coming up the week of July 14-18 starting at 5:30 each evening. You haven’t really lived until you have ex-perienced the excitement and joy of a building running over with children excited about learning more about God’s love for them! Mrs. Deanna Davis would love to have even more helpers for that week so it’s not too late to get involved! We have purchased the DVD of “God’s Not Dead” and se-cured the license to show it
publically. So, Sunday night July 20th at 6:00pm we will have a free showing of this recent hit movie. It is powerful and very well made. If you have ever wrestled with doubt or won-dered how to defend your faith in God to those who do not be-lieve, then this movie will speak to your heart! Bring some friends and come enjoy, be chal-lenged, and be changed by the power of the message! I know this is for next month’s newsletter, but I have to give you a little advance no-tice! Sunday night August 10th will be a powerful evening for us. It is our privilege to host the “Give Me Liberty Tour” featur-ing speakers such as Mat Staver, the founder of the Liberty Council and Dean of the Liberty University School of Law. This is not a Democrat or Republican event….this is an event de-signed to inform us of the bat-tles being fought for the preser-vation of our basic liberties! You do not want to miss this event! On a final note, the Person-nel Team has been working very hard and very diligently over the past few months. Their pri-mary task has been to search for a Minister of Music and Wor-ship for FBC. Multitudes of hours have been spent in secur-ing resumes, deciding direc-tions, combing through refer-ences and watching a lot of vid-eos from candidates. By the time you read this they should be close to presenting the next

RELAX WITH A GOOD DVD: One Hit From Home (DVD)—an inspirational family film that explores the unpredictability of life. Grace Unplugged (DVD)—should there be a struggle between fame, faith & family? Escape (DVD)—how far is far enough to run from God? Last Ounce of Courage (DVD)—an intergenerational story about family and taking a stand for cherished beliefs.
SUMMERTIME READING: Patchwork of Lies by Sharon Dunn (F)— Shannon is the only witness to a robbery that happened during the Apple Festival. But a discovery of a murder raises the stakes to a deadly game of cat & mouse. Crossing Oceans by Gina Holmes (F)—a remarkable story that will bring a family back together again to discover a love that saves us when nothing else can. Love is a Verb by Gary Chapman (177.7)—love isn’t just a feeling. Love is a choice, and love is something we all need to do.
4TH OF JULY FUN FACTS: 1. Benjamin Franklin wanted the wild turkey to be the official national bird. 2. Over150 million hot dogs are consumed on Independence Day. That’s about 2 for every 2 people in the U.S. 3. The stars in the American flag were arranged in a circle to represent equality between the original 13 colonies. 4. The 4th of July was not declared a national holiday until 1941. Although the Declaration of Independence has been celebrated since July 1777.

MINISTRIES AND OPPORTUNITIES
Luke 18:15-17 NIV
People were also bringing babies to Jesus to have Him touch them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. But Jesus called the children to Him and said “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”
All children are precious to Jesus and should be precious to us. So many children throughout the world are living in poverty, without medical help, without schooling, without proper housing or clothing. But, with our help, by sponsoring a child, we can change his or her life.
Compassion International provides schooling, clothing, medical exams, help for families and most importantly, the children learn about Jesus. For just $38.00 a month all of this is taken care of. We can correspond with our sponsored child and can encourage them in their daily activities and show them our love.
Think about sponsoring! See you in September!
