Aluminum—Through the acquisition of DA Stuart’s
U.S. aluminum hot rolling oil business, Quaker has
become a leading player in the U.S. aluminum hot
rolling market, serving some of the largest reversing
mills, single and multi-stand tandem finishing mills,
and combination mill systems. With the addition of
B-SERIES and ALUSHIELD hot mill lubricants to
the existing product line, Quaker is able to tailor a
rolling product to meet the unique needs of a mill
for the entire sheet producing process from casting
to finishing. Aluminum producers looking to source
their varied lubricant needs from a single supplier
can now turn to Quaker.
Heavy Duty Equipment—When equipment
operators want the performance of a synthetic
hydraulic fluid with the peace of mind of fire
resistance and biodegradability, they specify
QUINTOLUBRIC® hydraulic fluids.
Mining—QUINTOLUBRIC® hydraulic fluids have
been specially formulated for critical applications in
surface and underground mining. Our thorough
understanding of water based technology brings
the most technically advanced longwall and roof
support fluids to this market. The MINETECH™
line of maintenance lubricants brings added value

A package of services to improve your bottom line.
You are looking for ways to improve product
performance, lower your total operating costs
and address environmental concerns. At Quaker,
we see chemical management services as a
comprehensive way to help you achieve significant
value.
We use our extensive industry knowledge and
process expertise to understand your specific
issues, solve particular problems, and implement
demonstrated solutions. As a result, your company
will experience improvements in productivity, quality,
and profitability—immediately and into the future.
Quaker Chemical Management Services (QCMSsm)
goes beyond invoicing and delivering product to
optimize your processes and continuously reduce
chemical life cycle costs, risk, and environmental
impact.
Programs tailored to meet your needs. There are four different levels of integration of
QCMSsm, from chemical procurement, to
environmental tracking and reporting, to process
monitoring and control, and finally to leveraging
improvements in cost and product quality—with
guaranteed results.
We can extensively customize a QCMSsm program.
We’ll bring our most expert staff from around the
company—and the world—to plan implementa-
tions. Then we’ll create an on-site staff with the
knowledge and skills to respond immediately to
emergent issues. Each QCMSsm program also has
one person, in addition to their regular duties,
designated as a site safety coordinator. This role
serves to communicate safety related topics,
submit near-miss or incident reports, participate in
incident investigations, and support customer
safety programs.
QCMSsm staff are highly qualified. More than
90% are degreed, and more than 75% have
technical degrees. Team members are not only
trained across functions, they are trained for your
specific needs and processes. Furthermore, they are
supported through instant access to Quaker’s
technical database.
We also have the technological data processing
capability to help you get a deep understanding of
your total cost of ownership of process fluids and
associated products and services. This is the
backbone of QCMSsm, and one of the first and
foremost non-financial benefits you will enjoy.
The four different levels of integration of QCMSsm
include:
1. Chemical procurement: Quaker assumes
responsibility for inventory of process chemicals,
placing orders, ensuring delivery, inspection upon
delivery, no production down time due to product
shortage, and controlling inventory—resulting in
labor and cost savings.
2. Environmental tracking: Quaker leverages its
expertise to help ensure environmental compliance,
product stewardship, and health and safety
concerns—revealing and controlling hidden costs.
Quaker also participates in waste reduction
programs through product consumption reduction
and the implementation of specific technical
methods. The effect of this is direct cost savings
for you.
3. Process monitoring: Quaker’s on-site experts,
together with your plant staff, work to optimize
product-processes, capture data, and analyze
results— helping to reduce costs and improve
performance.
4. Leveraging improvements: At this level,
QCMSsm becomes a true partnership, with services
such as benchmarking of best practices and
associated costs per unit, as well as R&D for
process improvement—guaranteeing results.

A look at specific service offerings.Quaker offers a number of specific types of
services to create and integrate your QCMSsm
program. Here are profiles of seven such services
that demonstrate our expertise and capability.
MSDS and Environmental Support provides
on-site health, safety and environmental support
related to the chemicals that we manage in a
QCMSsm program, including MSDS management,
hazardous chemical evaluation, CAS number
reporting, environmental reporting, and training and
safe use instruction.
Procurement and Inventory Control minimizes
the impact of chemical use on production by
purchasing the right amount and assuring timely
delivery. With our large number of QCMSsm
programs, we have significant buying leverage and
in almost all cases can procure product at a lower
price per unit than our end-use customers. There
are many direct and indirect benefits from reduced
record keeping and easy interface with suppliers, to
Quaker ownership of inventory, from reduced
purchase orders and invoices, to Quaker oversight
for full compliance with government and industry
guidelines.
Our state-of-the-art inventory control system
assures proper inventory levels, avoids out-of
stock-situations, and can immediately locate
specific chemicals.
Additionally, we can report chemical usage by
specific burden or cost center, and provide JIT
inventory control.
Process Optimization focuses on the proper
application, use, and management of industrial
process fluids. This includes product selection and
specification, performance monitoring and reporting,
troubleshooting, trial evaluation, and safe-use
training. Available as a stand-alone service or in
conjunction with a more comprehensive
management services program. Process
optimization has been proven to save from 10 to
20% of chemical costs.
Chemical Control is the proper use of
chemicals, requiring ongoing monitoring and
control—assured through our on-site staff.
Benefits include real-time resolution of problems
and improvements in processes.
Recycling and Waste Minimization can be added
to a QCMSsm program to provide access to on-site
application of centrifuge and recycling systems, or
contract mobile recyclers. Direct cost savings can
be as high as 20 to 30% of original chemical costs,
plus liability avoidance, minimal environmental
impact, and easy recycling.
Cost Savings Programs and Project
Administration are based on our systems
approach, involving a broad range of our
expertise, supplemented by your technical staff
and other suppliers. The projects focus on all of
the input to your processes, including chemicals,
materials, and tooling, to establish performance
metrics and optimize the interaction between the
individual input parameters. We have helped many
customers realize dramatically lower production
costs.
QBX is Quaker’s customer-dedicated intranet site.
It is safe, with strictly limited access and your own
User ID and password. QBX gives you a fast way
to download and print data. The benefits include
faster communication and exchange of information,
and a permanent record of all controlled
parameters, projects, and reports.

Quality and environmental performance.
To Quaker, real quality means real value. We
deliver it by anticipating, satisfying, and exceeding
customer expectations the first time, and every
time. It starts with business planning, product and
service development, raw material selection, and
extends through manufacturing, shipment,
administrative functions, and final utilization of
the product.
Our efforts have been acknowledged globally, by
the International Organization for Standardization,
through which we have earned ISO 9001 at our
own facilities, as well as at customer sites where
we deliver services and products directly.
ISO 9001 is concerned with “quality management,”
meaning the organization enhances customer
satisfaction by meeting customer and regulatory
requirements, while continually working to improve
its performance.
ISO 14001 is a series of guidelines and require-
ments for effective environmental management.
This ensures the organization minimizes any harmful
effects on the environment.
As you can see in the map below, Quaker meets
ISO standards at locations all around the world.
