president’smessage

As I review the accomplishments of this past fiscal year, I find

it truly remarkable that so much has been achieved in so many

different areas of the College, within a single year’s span of

time. Two of our world-class programs have attained national

accreditation status; we opened a Barbering lab that simulates

a real-life, state-of-the-art barber shop; and our Economic

Development department has been transformed into The Center for

Corporate and Professional Education to better reflect its mission

of workforce and economic development in the counties we serve.

As the largest technical college in the state, Chattahoochee Tech

continues to set a high bar as the school of choice for essential,

affordable, and accessible postsecondary education within our

six-county service area. Our low tuition and fees, augmented by

scholarships and grants from the state and Chattahoochee Tech

Foundation, has kept the door of opportunity wide open for well

over 14,000 students from all walks of life and circumstances.

I am particularly proud of the College’s Green Zone training

initiative that has spread to all campuses, proactively addressing

the unique needs of military service members, veterans, and

veteran family members who are part of the much larger CTC

family. I am gratified that our newly renovated Woodstock Campus

beautifully serves as a pillar of postsecondary education in historic

downtown Woodstock.

As you review the 2015-2016 report, please notice that our efforts

and accomplishments consistently ring true to the College’s stated

mission and vision, a genuine testimony to the unceasing dedication

of the College’s faculty, staff, and community benefactors.

Chattahoochee Tech Foundation Highlights2015-2016

Chattahoochee Tech Foundation is changing students’ lives. Through our partners who graciously support our mission of providing financial assistance to students in need, we awarded 10 new scholarships in Spring 2016, totaling almost $60,000 in assistance. We provided more than $8,000 in grants to students who were in situations that were forcing them to decide between staying in school and meeting financial needs in their personal lives. Additionally, $17,000 was awarded to faculty and staff to attend professional conferences to advance their skills and knowledge and enhance the College for the benefit of our students and their colleagues.

We were able to accomplish all of this in fiscal year 2016 thanks to you, our donors. In FY 2016, Chattahoochee Tech Foundation received more gifts from more donors than the previous year. For this support, we’re honored and grateful. We believe that this increase is because we’re sharing more stories of how students’ lives are changed because of the quality technical education they receive at Chatt Tech. When you hear these stories, you can’t help but want to be a part of the transformational power of scholarships and grants that lead to success in academic programs that prepare students for high-demand careers with businesses ready to hire. Contributions from faculty, staff, alumni, local businesses, and friends of the College have a ripple effect beyond our campuses, transforming our communities by helping to create a strong workforce in North Georgia that is ready to work on day one.

Thank you for helping us Change Lives, Create Futures at Chattahoochee Tech Foundation.

Faculty and staff contributions help change lives by

providing financial assistance for CTC students. Through

scholarships and grants, Chattahoochee Tech Foundation is

able to both recognize our best and brightest students and

help those men and women who are striving to create a

better future for themselves and their families, but who may

not be able to do so without financial assistance. Investing

in our students makes the College a better place, boosts

student confidence, enrollment, and, eventually, our local

economy with a committed, highly skilled workforce.

This year’s “Superhero” giving campaign kickoff included a series of breakfasts held at each

campus location, which allowed the Foundation staff to personally visit the employees and

promote the Foundation’s mission. The campaign gained incredible momentum and reached

64 percent within a six-week period. This participation rate proves that Chattahoochee Tech

employees are invested in helping provide students with an affordable education leading

to a prosperous, rewarding career.

Thank you so much for my scholarship award. I was never going to be able to go to college unless I paid for it myself. I chose Chattahoochee Tech because I work and I wanted a school that was flexible with my job and the things I have going on in my life. Shortly after my semester ends, I will pursue a bachelor’s degree in Management Leadership. Once I graduate, I plan on pursuing a career in leadership at a company that is looking for a backbone and mentorship.

Again, thank you so much for your generous contribution.”
