ABOUT THE COMPANY
Roca began its activity as a company that made cast iron radiators for domestic heating at its factory in Gavà, near Barcelona. After these first radiators, the firm expanded its portfolio with the production of boilers. In 1929, Roca entered the bathroom space by starting the production of baths.
Always attentive to the changes in society related to water culture, the main natural resource Roca works with, the company assumed in 1936 the challenge of producing vitreous china bathroom appliances. After that, in 1954 Roca started the production of brassware.
In the 90s the Group developed a first step of international expansion, mainly based on setting up commercial branches and signing agreements with local leading brands. Besides Portugal and France, Roca’s presence started to spread over the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Russia, Morocco, Argentina, Brazil and China.
The turning point of the internationalisation process took place in 1999, with the acquisition of the Swiss Keramik Holding Laufen, fourth global manufacturer in those days. The acquisition of Laufen allowed the Group to strengthen its position in strategic markets where the brand had less presence, such as Eastern Europe, Brazil and the USA.
In 2005 Roca announces an ambitious strategic plan focused on bathroom spaces, achieving the world leadership of the sector in 2006.
Today, Roca’s commercial network spreads over 135 countries supplied by its 76 production plants and more than 20,000 employees worldwide.

Roca, in its commitment to support ESADE attracting young talented professionals, offers Scholarships to ESADE’s Full Time MBA candidates starting in September 2017.
Latin American, Chinese, Indian, Russian, Indonesian and Turkish nationalities (work permit or residence permit in these countries will be also considered).
Candidates should be admitted to the ESADE MBA.
English proficiency. Knowledge of Spanish will be a plus.
Academic excellence (academic record from all universities attended, GMAT and/or TAE). Other merits or achievements will also be taken into consideration when supporting documentation is provided.
Background in Industrial Engineering and previous professional experience in Industry will be a plus.
Candidates shall prove great growth potential and interest in developing their professional career in China, India, Latin-America, Russia, Indonesia and/or Turkey.
A motivation letter will also be required for this scholarship explaining why a candidate should be considered as a Roca’s Scholarship recipient.

The candidates granted with Roca’s scholarship will be preferably considered for an Internship at Roca Co.
Scholarships will cover up to 15% of tuition fees, but the final number of students granted will depend on the quality and competitiveness of applications received for this academic year, 2017/2018.
