NTU-UOM Joint Master of Sciencein Project Management (MSc PM)This programme is jointly delivered with The University of Manchester’s Management of Projects Research Group in the School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering which has an illustrious track record in project management, professional development programmes and research over the past 40 years. It breaks new ground with its modular blended-learning approach using a combination of self-paced and internet-based distance learning and face-to-face plenary and mid-term sessions. It utilises practice-based learning and is founded on generic project management principles coupled with excellent transferable skills and knowledge.
There is a growing need for competent, qualified project managers in the sophisticated industries of the 21st century. Such highly-skilled professionals are in demand to manage change, opportunities and risks, large complex projects, and multi-cultural, distributed project teams. This Joint MSc PM aims to equip project managers with the skills to conceptualise, plan, develop, implement and deliver successful projects.

For WhomFor individuals who have assumed management responsibilities and/or desire a career change to project management and for project management professionals who aspire to acquire a formal graduate education but have full-time work commitment.
Programme StructureStudents in this programme have to fulfil 30 Academic Units (AUs) by completing eight mandatory courses (3 AUs each) and a mandatory dissertation (6 AUs).
Modular Blended-LearningA unique feature of this Joint MSc PM is the self-paced, internet-enabled, modular blended-learning. Intensive face-to-face events will be organised every semester during which keynote speakers will deliver seminars, course assignments will be discussed and candidates will be prepared for the semestral exams. Students earn Academic Units (AUs) by successfully completing written assignments, class projects and by passing final examinations.
Programme Duration Each academic year comprises two semesters. Students can complete the entire programme within three years by taking a maximum of two courses per semester and undertaking the dissertation at the start of Year 3. The maximum candidature is six years.
