Our faculty will be sharing effective strategies for teachers to “hook” their students on Shakespeare and classic literature. They will be joined by several alumni from the Central Florida E-SU British Universities’ Summer Scholarship program, who will serve as small group coaches.

Your two days include: A backstage tour of the OST A performance by the regional winner of the E-SU Student

Shakespeare Competition (fresh from the finals in NYC) Best practices discussions “Student” performances, coached by faculty and BUSS alumni LUNCH both days! (also morning coffee) Reflections and door prizes each day A special gift from E-SU A Certificate of Completion

Supporting teachers in carrying out the E-SU mission of advancing the teaching and learning of the English language is what we do. Our educational foundation awards grants to support teachers and students in the schools and community each year. This summer, as we have since 1962, E-SU will sponsor five Central Florida teachers to travel and study in England at Oxford University and The Globe Theatre on generous scholarships from the Jessie Drey Foundation. You probably know a teacher who has received that scholarship! Applications go out to English/Drama and Social Studies teachers each fall, due in January.
