Common mission amongst all Combatant Commander’s is to promote Regional Security and Stability – primarily accomplished through partnerships via varying means…for example,
In the CENTCOM AOR, ISAF is engaged in counterinsurgency (COIN) operations and Afghanistan capacity building -- Combined Maritime Forces are combating terrorism/piracy and promoting regional security cooperation.
Globally, there are 62+ coalition countries contributing to the war against terrorism.
COIN operations and Regional Stability operations have expanded our information exchange requirements.

TRANSFORMING CYBER WHILE AT WAR
Coalition partnerships are crucial to enabling CENTCOM’s mission.
However, all Combatant Commander’s face similar requirements: • National level strategic guidance to prepare for coalition / allied operations
•Mission essential strategic partnerships
• Quick transition from Phase 0 to Phase 1 during crisis… this shift often demands immediate integration of coalition partners
Joint communications was yesterday’s challenge – today’s strategic environment requires a coalition (and inter-agency) approach, supported by a coalition network.
Our main challenge is to design and emplace a mission configurable network - flexible enough to fully enable an undefined coalition... now.
