ABSTRACT
Training at the work place may take a variety of forms. In its very broadest sense it maybe identified with career development and acquisition of required knowledge, skills andattitude from the continuous experience and the opportunities provided by work itself,(Tyson and York 2000). Training is a motivational tool since it provides opportunities tostaff who will be convinced that they will benefit as employees of the organization. Theprocess of motivation is much more complex than many people believe. The study'smain purpose therefore is to determine the effects of on the job training on employee'smotivation with reference to Crown Berger Kenya Limited. The study will be guided byfour research objectives which include; To determine the effect of on the job training onemployee motivation in an organization, To find out how training affect the commitmentof employees in an organization, To investigate the effect of incentives given to theemployees on employee motivation in an organization and To determine the effect ofbenefits received given to the employees on employee motivation in an organization.Four research questions were formulated from the objectives to enable the researchercollect reliable findings. The study findings will assist the organization to functioneffectively since employees will be well equipped with skills to do their work thusimprove quality and productivity that result to more profits and revenue for thecorporation and any other organization. The researcher used descriptive survey researchdesign in collecting the data from respondents with a target population of 100respondents. The design is preferred because it is concerned with answering questionssuch as who, how what, which, when and how much Cooper and Schindler (2001).Further this study employed descriptive data analysis. The study involved making flowdiagrams and appropriate charts to make illustrations. Chapter four is set out as follows;descriptive statistics, Regression Results, and the summary and interpretation of findings.The data collected was analysed at quantitative and qualitative levels. At quantitativelevel, the data was presented in simple statistical methods such as tables and bar graphs.At qualitative level, the data was presented descriptively. Finally chapter five presentsthe summary, conclusion and recommendations of the information analysed during thestudy on the effects of on the job training on employee's motivation in an organizationwith reference to Crown Berger Kenya Limited. The chapter is set out as follows; theSummary of the study, Conclusions and the Limitations of the Study and fmallySuggestion for Further Research.
