FATHER-SON / PARENT-CHILD: 27th July – 29th JulyOakmont Country Club, Laurel Valley Golf Club & Latrobe Country Club

The Father-Son (Parent-Child) competition is an established annual event which is always well attended – it’s as much about the bonding, competing, mixing with other Father/Sons as playing combinations of courses that have staged one of the Majors. This year we head to North America’s finest, Oakmont Country Club, Laurel Valley, and Arnold Palmer’s Latrobe Country Club. Consistently ranked in America’s Top 100 courses, situated in the rolling hills outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Oakmont remains possibly the most difficult courses in North America, renowned for its 210 deep bunkers with its trademark church pews, its fast and firm slick greens that slope away from the player, and tight fairways requiring the greatest accuracy. Considered by some to be Dick Wilson’s consummate design, Laurel Valley was founded by a group that included Arnold Palmer and is also a regular feature in the Top 100 courses in the US. Combined with Latrobe Country Club, the home of Arnold Palmer, this is the perfect golfing trio to create memories of a lifetime. This 54-hole event is designed for 24 Father-Son (Parent-Child) teams (age 11+) who will compete over three days of 18-hole best-ball matches. The format enables you to play with lots of teams of similar age groups and share time with everyone.

THE SHOOT OUT: Toronto:16th SeptemberToronto, Ontario, Canada.

Twenty-four two-man teams compete over 27 holes (3x 9-holes) in a knock out tournament with a difference. Each player places $100 into the pot and the purse for the day equals $4,800. All teams compete off 50% of the combined handicap. The teams are split in to two sides of the draw where every shot helps determine your final place. In each match you gain half a point for a tied hole, 2 points for a hole that’s won and 3 points for match victory.

Round 1 witnesses each team competing over nine holes to go through as winners in Round 2. In Round 2 the 12 victors from each match play another team of winners in the same half of the draw and the losers will play another defeated team. In round 3 the final round teams will compete over nine holes to go through into the play-offs. The 3 teams from each half of the draw will advance to play in one of the key final matches, with the teams from either side of the draw playing in the 1st and 2nd place play-off, 3rd and 4th place play off, the 5th and 6th place play off and so on. In the play-offs the teams with most points from all their matches determines their play-off contest, but the top 3 play-off matches can only be contested by teams that have won all their matches! In the final match which is sudden death, both teams compete for a cash prize plus bragging rights with the losers walking away with nothing!
