Whether through long-standing annual regional events, or local Chapter celebrations, together our Brothers will celebrate and reflect upon all that the Fraternity has given us (most importantly, each other). We celebrate the day that changed the path of pharmacy history and planted the seed that would grow into our great Fraternity as it stands today. Cheers to 135 more years to come and cheers to all Brothers of Phi Delta Chi.

Celebrate 135 Years of Brotherhood

Every year, Phi Delta Chi Brothers across the country celebrate a trulymonumental day – a day that changed all our lives for the better. November 2nd

1883 was the day 11 University of Michigan pharmacy students, led by theirDean, Albert B. Prescott, came together to establish this great Brotherhood. Onehundred and thirty-five years later and Phi Delta Chi’s Brotherhood is thestrongest it has ever been. Whether through long-standing annual regionalevents, or local Chapter celebrations, together our Brothers will celebrate andreflect upon all that the Fraternity has given us (most importantly, each other).

We celebrate the day that changed the path of pharmacy history and planted theseed that would grow into our great Fraternity as it stands today. Cheers to 135more years to come and cheers to all Brothers of Phi Delta Chi.

Anti-Discrimination Policy Committee Update

The Anti-Discrimination Policy (ADP) Committee is ready to present theirfinal version of the policy to the Brotherhood. The Policy has beenreviewed at Regional Conferences and subject to two open-commentperiods to allow all Brothers to review it. The updated ADP documentscontain a “Procedure” section which will eventually be incorporated in theAAP and AFP.

Please see the proposed Anti-Discrimination Policy & Procedure on the2019 Policy Topics page listed as Alumni Affairs 2019-3-1. Also check outthe November Blog by your Grand President which details the process theADP Committee followed to get to this point.

The Phi Delta Chi Professional Programming Committee hopes to recordlive sessions at Grand Council 2019 in Anaheim for future use as aresources for Brothers on the National Website. They need experiencedvolunteers to help provide this service to the Brotherhood.

It is with great pleasure that the Pharmacy Leadership and Education Institute (PLEI) announces that nominations for the 2019 Albert B. Prescott Leadership Award, sponsored by Phi Lambda Sigma, are now open.

The Albert B. Prescott Pharmacy Leadership Award, is given annually to a young pharmacist no more than 10 years into his or her career. The recipient shall have demonstrated exemplary leadership qualities as a young pharmacist indicative of someone likely to emerge as a major leader in pharmacy over the course of his or her career

The 2019 Prescott recipient, who must have received his or her first pharmacy degree in 2009 or later, will receive a $1,000 honorarium. He or she must give an address during the APhA2019 in Seattle, WA on March 22-25, 2019 and prepare a text based on the address that is suitable for publication in the Journal of the American Pharmacists Association.

We invite you to nominate an alumnus for this award. Self-nominations are also allowed. Nominations may be submitted online via the following website: http://plei.org/prescott-award/prescott-award-application/. Nomination materials include:

• Curriculum vitae of the nominee• Letter of nomination• Supporting letters of recommendation (up to 5 will be accepted)• Nomination materials must be received by November 30, 2018.
