We had a great turnout at the Digital Leadership Forum September Conference where we were joined by leading

brands from HSBC, Coca-Cola, Allen & Overy, Bank of England and Unilever.

Here are the highlights from the sessions, speakers and we have also provided links to their presentations.

Andrew Scrase

Global Digital Marketing Manager Facebook and Instagram

3 features on Instagram and Facebook that you must use!

1. You can use Instagram’s feature of building custom audiences and find new users and potential leads that like similar things to your business.

2. Signing up your customer through Facebook and Instagram’s logins will save your customers time. People’s attention span doesn’t last long - with Facebook and Instagram we have their exact email address so it’s a smoother and faster process for you to collect their data

3. Facebook have now updated the way you can target and comment on users posts. You don’t need to be tagged anymore and find your responses from audiences through the feature ‘mentions’. It helps your marketing piece if you respond to negative posts.

Snapchat campaignBank of England did a campaign via Snapchat where they picked 10 locations around the country that would receive the new £10 notes. Bank of England did a push on Twitter and Snapchat and targeted a younger demographic which isn’t there usual target market.

“We wanted to reach our audience with what platform they’re using and what’s relevant for them”

Did Snapchat generate the right values?

“Bank of England did get lots of value from reaching a younger demographic that only Snapchat have access to. The difficulty was the richness of data in comparison to

other networks such as Facebook and Twitter.”

Adrian NashHead of Analytics and Insights

Here are the highlights from Adrian’s session:

“Digital leaders shouldn’t be fixated on digital metrics – it can be a danger.

I’ve seen digital analytics grow. We need to ask what’s the business

strategy? What’s the KPI’s and how do the digital metrics relate to that?”

“Data doesn’t need to be complicated. The answer for me

is not the power of the model but it’s the power of the data.”

“There are different ways of looking at data – they look at it for ideas. PwC is in the camp of creating hypothesis and then

we do some data recovery.”

“Always follow a test + learn approach”

Digital Disruption Trends for the Legal Sector

This session explored how AI can deliver real value to the legal industry and our attendees met 5 leading disruptive companies who could transform the legal industry.

The Libryo Platform enables any person, working in any organisation, to understand the legal obligations in any situation.

Libryo’s are used by its customers and partners as part of ISO certified management systems, and for compliance with all applicable regulation. Their fundamental purpose is to empower organisations globally, to know, for sure, what they are required to do by law and regulation. They have developed cutting edge technology to answer the question.

F-Lex connect paralegals with law firms and in house counsel for a more cost effective and flexible workforce. They use AI to review commercial leases, compliance issues and pull relevant definitions and heads of terms.

Juro helps you close contracts on any device with branded, legally binding electronic signing. They close faster, negotiate better and unlock contract data through one end-to-end platform.

Scale legal know how with highly automated templates, access controls and alerts. Ensure the correct terms are agreed every time, keep track of contract activity and never miss a renewal deadline again.

Juro summarises contracts from the get-go and ensures your systems are in sync.

The Legal Geek family organises events and the famous Legal Geek Conference. They provide thought leadership on startups, by tracking the startup ecosystem with their startup map. They have also created a dedicated in-house community to provide thought leadership to General Counsel.

ThoughtRiver’s software automates the human triaging process, interpreting key risk issues and dynamically applying corporate policies to generate an overall risk score for the contract. With research now suggesting up to 40% of lawyer time is wasted on low value issues, ThoughRiver tells you which contracts to look at and which issues to focus on, without having to read them first.
