NATURAL BEAUTY

Norton’s landscape has changed little over the centuries.

Most of this historic landscape remains an undeveloped

patchwork of gently rolling hills, fields and ancient woodland.

Just a stones throw from two areas of England’s Areas of

Outstanding Natural Beauty (the Cotswolds and Malvern

Hills) The Orchard has a stunning natural back-drop with

excellent local amenities and leisure pursuits.

The perfect place to raise a family.

ON YOUR DOORSTEP

Nestled in a rural setting midway between Evesham and Salford Priors, the friendly village of Norton has a long history including playing a part in the Battle of Evesham in 1265.

The village boasts five local pubs and a highly recommended local farm shop in the neighbouring village of Harvington. Within three miles of the site are larger amenities with a retail park, golf course and popular Evesham Country park.

Within 20 minutes drive are the beautiful Malvern Hills and Cotswolds and historic Stratford-Upon-Avon filled with leisure pursuits.

Worcester, Evesham and Stratford-upon-Avon provide excellent commuter opportunities and the properties are within catchment of Ofsted Outstanding schools making the Orchard an excellent choice for families and professionals alike.

Local distances:

• Evesham Train Station - 3.2 miles• M5 (junction 9) - 15.9 miles• M42 (junction 3) - 17.9 miles

• Evesham - 3.8 miles• Stratford-Upon-Avon - 11.6 miles• Cheltenham - 21.7 miles

Based on the outskirts of the village just half a mile from neighbouring

Harvington, The Orchard is designed to emulate a naturally developed farm

complex. The end product will appear as though it has been there for many

years and blend seamlessly into the landscape with a sympathetic material

palette and complementing design.

At the beginning of the farm’s development it is envisaged that a timber framed

tithe or thrashing barn would have occupied the site. Plots 17 (Evelina) and 18

(Crofton) are designed to emulate this with exposed timber frame and striking

red brick.

Later a new farmhouse in Plot 1 (Arlington) and coach house in Plot 20 (Albany)

were added with a selection of brick barns to the rear of the site encompassing

Plots 2 (Franklin), 3, (Harcourt) 4 (Cottenham), 5 (Gladstone) and 6 (Yarlington).

Over time as the operations at the farm intensified, further buildings would

have been added to the southern courtyard reflecting the prosperity of the farm

holding. Plots 15 (Redfield), 16 (Belmont), and 19 (Grove) show this expansion.

An expansion from arable to pastoral farming would then have led to milking

parlours in Plot 7 (Kinsea) and 8 (Permain) and a large, modern Dutch style barn

being built to the rear edge of the site encompassing Plots 9 to 14 (Mairac,

Hudson, Kanzi, Rubens & Pippin).

The site also pays homage to it’s former use as a farmed orchard. All of the

properties are named after Apple varieties, some of which can be found in the

neighbouring orchards to the rear of the site.

To the front of the site is a small recreation area for use by the residents of The

Orchard and of the village.

A short walk from the site is a superb pub with large beer garden, play area and

great food. There is also a farm-shop (Ellenden) 1.3 miles from The Orchard

which is renowned for stocking a substantial range of fresh, highest quality and

locally grown produce.

Their Farmhouse Kitchen Cafe offers a mouth-watering array of home-made

cakes and cider from the orchards surrounding the site. Dogs are welcome

guests in their outdoor covered seating area with agility classes being held

regularly at the farm.

A short distance towards Stratford lies the Harvington Golf Centre with two

courses, the 9 hole Mill Course which is ideal for beginners and the 18 hole

Anchor Course for a greater challenge!

Neighbouring Harvington is also home to the Harvington Cricket Club with

teams for both adults and children.

The village hall holds a selection of clubs including an Art Workshop, Dog

Training, Bowls and Pilates as well as various annual events demonstrating the

excellent community spirit within the local community.
