Behind Copenhagen Bike Company stands owner Ole Hjortlund Svendsen, who in 2017 took the leap from

a prestigious and well-earned job as international sales manager at Georg Jensen Denmark to make a

startup with bicycles, which he believes is the means of transport of the future.

We want to help increase urban mobility and sustainable transportation in the world’s largest

metropoles.

Urban mobility and air pollution are becoming an increasingly larger problem in metropoles all over the

world. More than half of the world’s population lives in urban areas, and by 2050 the urban population is

projected to grow with another 2.5 billion people globally. This growing urbanization could ultimately

increase pollution, damage citizens health and make it more difficult for people to get around. We want to

be a part of the solution for this problem – — make it easier for people to move through the city in a quick,

easy and sustainable way.

We want to utilize Copenhagen’s global image as a sustainable, environment-friendly and dynamic

city for bicycling.

Bicycling represents the future of transportation. It is cheap, it’s healthy, it’s less stressful, it’s fast, it’s

extremely environment-friendly and it gives unique mobility even in the largest cities. In Denmark,

bicycles are the most popular mean of transportation and up to 50% of all Copenhageners use their bike as

their preferred mean of transportation to get to and from work every day. A city’s live ability is highly

connected to urban mobility and we want to use Copenhagen’s global image to communicate this to the

rest of the world.

We want to create classic, elegant and simple bicycles that builds on the history of Copenhagen and

fulfills the current and future mobility-needs of metropoles around the world.

Cycling is a sustainable and dynamic way of getting from A to B. We want to help more people use the

bicycle as their preferred mean of transportation in their everyday life. In order to do so, we want to create

a unique series of bicycles that are elegant, classic and simple to use.

Hand-built luxury

Copenhagen Bike Company focuses on a meticulous design and good craftsmanship. Therefore, every

detail on the bicycle has been considered and every bicycle is hand-built from scratch. The frame is

formed with CR-MO tubes that are considerably stronger than normal steel, while remaining light in

weight. All frames are formed by hand, which means that every bicycle is adjusted to fit the cyclist’s

height. This means that when you order a bicycle from Copenhagen Bike Company we build it for you

personally.

Chain protector

Copenhagen Bike Company have designed a unique chain protector. The chain protector is special

aesthetically due to its minimalistic design and clean lines. It curves along the chain discretely without

disturbing the eye. In an almost invisible way this detail once again emphasizes Copenhagen Bike

Company’s thorough design process.

Ride in style

Copenhagen Bike Company aim at working with the best suppliers of the components. All bicycles are

equipped with a Brooks™ leather seat, which combines a comfortable design with high quality materials.

Additionally, all handlebars are also produced in leather to give the cyclist a comfortable grip.

The City Cruiser

City Cruiser is designed and built based on the idea that a bicycle should be just as comfortable and

elegant as a classic sports car or a German limousine. Therefore, the City Cruiser is built with the same

materials that you would expect from these vehicles – metal, wood and leather. But unlike luxury cars the

City Cruiser is simple. The bicycle is equipped with foot breaks and either 3 or 7 gears.

The Beach Cruiser

Beach Cruiser is an attempt at creating an organic extension of the human, that uses their ride from A to B

as a break from the hustle of the city. Wide tires, curved frame, the soft seat and a wide handlebar – all for

the sake of the cyclist. While keeping the Beach Cruiser as discreet and simple as possible. No bells and

whistles. We believe there is already plenty of noise.
