It’s Time Happy New year to everyone, hope you had a wonderful holiday. Now that we are into a new year and all of the festivities are over, it is time to put away all of the Christ-mas decorations until next year. What I mean is all of the decora-tions that were put up for display on the pass. They do add to our community and to the beauty of desert flora. So now we need to remove all of those decorations, before they be-come a detriment to our valuable flora and fauna, and a general eye-sore. Please, please let us all do our part in this, if you put them up or know somebody who did then lets us get them down. Lyal S Darrel

Santa On the Pass I would like to thank whoever thoughtfully placed the decora-tions on the pass to help Santa send holiday cheer to all that passed by. It's nice to know that his presence brings joy to all that see him. (Well most everyone. The beer bottle was not funny!) If you would like them returned you can contact me @ [email protected]. Ann Weber also knows how to contact me. The decorations are in safe storage along with Santa. Again, I want to say thanks for your thoughtfulness. Santa's helpers

Texas Hold-em Tournament

The Senior Center announces a new evening activity. Come join us for the first of many Super Senior Saturday’s. The first event will be a Texas Hold-em Tournament. Mark your calendars for February 23, 2013 with a 5:00 P.M. start time. The senior center will open the event with a stadium style pot luck. You can indulge in this splendid stadium feast when you bring a side dish or make a donation to the senior center. The cards will shuffle at 6:00 P.M. and all skill levels are welcome. If it’s your first time the dealers will assist you in playing your hand. The donation fee for the tournament will be $5.00. You may donate a 2nd time if needed. Tournament is limited to 2 donations. This is a winner taking home 75% and the senior center receiving 25% as a donation. If you don’t want to play but enjoy watching the action up close, then volunteer to be a dealer. If you are interested in dealing please call Suzi at 702-723-5143. If you want to be a spectator, then come on down, as there will be raffle prizes for both the tournament player and spectators alike. We hope to see all the folks who live in Sandy Valley, Don’t drive to the city to have fun, do it in your backyard at the Senior Center.

Koni Green (cont. from page 1)

A Celebration of life for Koni Green will be held on January 19th, 2013 at 1:00 pm on the 2nd floor at the Gold Strike Hotel and Casino Jean NV. Following the Celebration there will be a Pot Luck back in the Valley at the SV Senior Center at 4:00 p.m. Please, in lieu of flowers and money the family asks that you donate to the Keystone Enrichment Foundation, 777 East Quartz Ave P.M.B. 7750, Sandy Valley, NV 89019 . A Cancer fund has been set in Memory of Koni Green, No One Fights Alone, to help those who are also fighting cancer with medical and co-pays. I myself and know Koni would have wanted this, be-cause of the all love and support of so many people who helped us during this trying moment in our life. I Love you, Boo Boo, we will be together again
