Revision guides to be confirmed.
The course looks at the micro aspects of film making – the details of putting together a particular
scene or sequence of scenes – and the macro aspects of film making, which looks at the industry
as a whole in more general terms.
The students will look in detail at films out of Hollywood (specifically ‘Superhero’ films) and films
made outside Hollywood.
Over the two year course the students will complete some research based written assignments
and they will also be required to complete some practical tasks, creating a short film sequence, a
homepage for a website and other marketing tools used by the film industry.
Finally, there will be two written examinations in the summer of 2018. One examination will look at the ‘Superhero’ films from Hollywood and the other will require a detailed knowledge of at least one (but, realistically, more than one) film made outside Hollywood.
