Dear Homeowner / Resident:
RE: DUCHARME STREET PARKING RESTRICTIONSSubsequent to the extension of Ducharme Street from approximately Helsinki Cres. to Cancun St.,the City of Windsor is taking this opportunity to extend the cycling facilities on Ducharme Street, asidentified in the Bicycle Use Master Plan. This will connect the existing bike lanes and signedroutes on two previously segregated sections using a combination of Bike Lanes, Signed Routesand Multi-Use Trail, resulting in 2.6 km of continuous cycling facilities on Ducharme St from WalkerRoad to Holburn St.
• Existing Bike Lanes - Walker Rd. to Holburn St.• Bike Lanes extended - Holburn St. to Helsinki Cres.• Signed Route and Multi-use Trail - Helsinki Cres. to Cancun St.• Bike Lanes extended - Cancun St. to Sixth Concession Rd.• Existing Signed Route - Sixth Concession Rd. to Holburn St.
As per Traffic Bylaw 9148 Section 25B i, the designated bicycle lane is exclusively for the use ofbicycles. Therefore vehicles are prohibited from travelling, parking or stopping in a bicycle lane.To reinforce these restrictions, the following signage will be installed as illustrated in theattached drawing:
• No parking on both sides of Ducharme Street from Walker Road to the Sixth Concessionas per the existing parking by-law, and
• no stopping or parking on both sides of Ducharme Street from Manzanillo Crescent to120 metres south of Manzanillo Crescent.
Please be further reminded, as per the Parking Bylaw 9023, parking on the boulevard, such asthe newly extended section of Ducharme St., is prohibited. No Parking signage will be installedas a further reminder.
