What is Household Level Protection
• Works for individual properties
• Tailored property protection
• Reduces Risk rather than preventing flooding
• Not the silver bullet
Cornwall Council Approach
• Early establishment of Project Board• Close working with Project partners• Weekly Team Meetings• Early setting of Strategy
• Passive measures wherever possible• 600mm protection• Money into protection rather than modelling –
time & resourcing issue
• Local liaison• With elected members• Flood Fairs with eligible properties• With local champions

Conclusions
• Don’t under-estimate the complexity.
