Oil and Gas Industry Drivers
Oil and Gas companies must:– Provide safe and reliable operations– Operate cost effectively in a new era of lower
prices– Sustain and extend production capability.
Oil and Gas companies are under increased pressure to:– meet growing environmental legislation – replace an aging workforce– manage a diverse set of operational risks.

Advisory Councils
Maximo Advisory Council (MAC):• Members of this advisory council are primarily invited from large
Maximo customers that are part of the Accelerated Value Program (AVP). The MAC meets at least annually to discuss Maximo product direction, support, approaches, progress and issues. The meetings are two days and are organized by the Maximo Product Development and AVP Support team.
Maximo Oil and Gas / HSE Advisory Council:• Members of this Advisory Council are exclusive to our oil and gas
and HSE customer base. Executives and key domain experts meet on average once a year to advise on product strategy. The meetings are normally over two days and are organized by the Oil and Gas Industry Leader. No sales personnel or business partners are involved. It is a direct interaction between thought-leading customers and Maximo product architects.
Development Partners• A cornerstone of Maximo’s development philosophy is to involve end user customers in the planning process
for developing enhancements and industry solutions for the Maximo Asset Management software through the formation of Maximo Development Partner Advisory Groups
• Provides a mutually beneficial result for all customers participating in a Group, IBM, and ultimately, all Maximo end users. Because each participating organization can directly influence product direction by participating in a Group, and Maximo can benefit from the users “real world” experience and advice, Maximo is expected to improve as a result - a “win-win” situation.
• Participants must understand that Maximo is commercial software, and must be willing to seek solutions and enhancements that are generally marketable and not unique to them.
• Members must agree to sign an IBM Confidential Disclosure Agreement (“CDA”) and related Supplement. • These are group focused on areas of current development within the Maximo product and Industry Solutions
and may only last for a single development/release cycle.• Each Group generally consists of individuals from Maximo’s Product Architects, Development, QA, Support,
and Documentation departments. • Participation generally includes involvement in brainstorming sessions and review of design specifications,
alpha software (throughout development sprints) and beta testing.

Incidents
• The use cases for Incident Management reporting include, injury and illness, environmental or security incidents, a near miss, a spillage, a safety observation or a failure in a safety process.

Regulatory Compliance
• In highly regulated industries, regulations typically specify how often a piece of equipment needs to be inspected.
• Thru the combination of core Maximo Work Management functionality, (Job Plans, PMs & PM Generation) and the ability to maintain and reference applicable regulations a company can generate and assign the WOs to perform the regulatory compliance activities, track the associated cost, identify follow-up actions to maintain compliance and finally be able to report the details of compliance activities on demand.

Condition for Work
• The condition for work is likely to be in the context of a work function; maintenance, inspection, project, production, etc.
• It refers to the state of the asset for the work function to be performed.• Some examples of the condition for work are, SHUTDOWN, LOCKEDOUT, ISOLATED, PURGED,
STOPPED, RUNNING, etc. Source > maximosecrets.com

What does Worker Insights do?• Worker Insights puts compliance at the center of
safety, making it easier to identify and eliminate hazards in the workplace.
• It combines IoT data from wearables, environmental sensors and other data, with advanced analytics.
• Delivers real-time insights, putting time and place into context, along with trending and forecasting analyses, and worker information.
• This powerful solution helps workers Think, Inform and Act. It also enables supervisors to use predictive information to address issues before they become problems.

Maximo HSE and Worker Insights Integration
As an Operations Manager using Maximo HSE, I would like to beaware of hazards identified by Worker Insights and:• See hazards as alerts on Maximo UI• Receive notifications when a new alert is created;• Use alerts to trigger Incident Management process• Log in at Worker Insights with the same user/password Maximo• Be able to identify alert location as a Maximo Location
2
HSE + Worker Insights integration: Use Case Scenario
The ‘hazard’ appears in the Maximo UI as an ‘alert’
Maximo HSE user receives a notification that a new ‘alert’ was
created
New ‘alert’ triggers the Incident Management Process
Together, HSE + Worker Insights create a streamlined process for detecting and managing incidents.
New ‘alert’ ONLYbecomes an ‘incident’ if
it aligns with pre-determined rules in
Maximo HSE
Detected ‘hazard’ causes ‘action’ in Worker Insights
Shield to be triggered.
‘Action’ calls for Worker Insights Shield to send
‘hazard’ to Maximo HSE

Maximo HSE Incident list – triggered by WI:
Incident detail in Maximo HSE – triggered by WI:
Data consistency of workplace-incidents• Automating incident reporting• Increases in captured “incident” related data
Decrease the number of unreported workplace incidents
• Standard / Consistent data captured for incidents Decrease user-variation of manually captured incidents
Time saved• Relevant data automatically populates in HSE ‘Incident List’ –
eliminating manual steps• Improves overall operations (Kyle Harding input on Box comments)
Enable greater analytical value…• Increase in captured standardized data enables deeper analytics • Root cause analysis • Real Time Analytics• Predictive / Incident Avoidance

SK Advanced

SK Advanced manufactures propylene at a new plant they built in Ulsun, Korea. Commencing in 2015, they compared SAP PM to Maximo and chose to implement Maximo for Oil and Gas with just three personnel supporting the project. They chose Maximo because of its support for global standards ISO 14224 and ISO 55001, Maximo’s user-friendly interface, its ease to integrate with other systems (ERP, EDMS) and its ability to support expansion to other plants (scalability).
SK Advanced presented their results at MaximoWorldconference in 2018. They reported that in 2017, they achieved;• a 15% improvement in maintenance efficiency, • a 20% improvement in process time loss, • 96.9% availability, • a 10% improvement in wrench time and • no human loss.

Summary
• It’s still about people, process and technology
• Technology is merely the enabler.• But, you can simplify the
technology implementation with a product that supports the integration of maintenance and safety “out-of-the box.”
