CHN Training Builds Capacity

Educational Trainings offered by CHN

Hospital Visitation Training Visitation training is designed to equip laypersons with the tools to provide effective spiritual care to the sick. Some topics covered are: Spirituality in Ministry (Self), Ministry to the afflicted (Patient), Spiritual Care to the Sick (Skill Development) and Holistic Ministry (The Hospital Team).

Alliance Aftercare TrainingAftercare training is designed to equip non-clinical students with skills and knowledge to care for patients after discharge. Topics include Home care, Hospice, Geriatric as well as specific diseases. Students will obtain knowledge of available resources as well.

Educational Trainings offered by CHN(Continued)

Caring For the DyingThis course is designed to equip those who are caring for with a friend, family member or loved one who is nearing the end of life with knowledge and tools to provide effective care. As a caregiver, you will learn how to provide love and support for the patient as you move through the transition process when it emotionally draining for the both of you, without completely draining yourself. Questions about the dying process and identification of available resources will be a part of this training.

Mental Health First AidMental Health First Aid is a 12-hour training course designed to give members of the public key skills to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The evidence behind the program demonstrates that it does build mental health literacy — helping the public identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness.
