It was purchased in 1987 by the AMR Corporation and renamed AMR Combs/AMR Executive Charter. In 1995, the charter operation was purchased by Travel Consultants Inc. (then West Michigan’s largest travel management firm, co-founded by Charles R. [Chuck] Cox) and renamed Travel Consultants Aviation Inc.

• January 1, 1997, the FBO was purchased from the AMR Corporation by a group led by Mr. Cox and renamed Northern Air to recall the original company and its long history of service to the business and general aviation community in West Michigan. • October 19, 1998, the ownership and name of Travel Consultants Aviation changed to Northern Jet Management to align itself with its sister company Northern Air.

• November 2002, Charles R. Cox founded The Company Jet, a privately held fractional jet ownership company.

Chuck Cox, known for his dedication to building organizations focused on delivering outstanding customer service, has grown the company from its modest beginnings to an operating fleet of 13 jet aircraft on a worldwide basis, propelling the organization into the top ranks of successful corporate aviation businesses.
