1565- Legazpi made Cebu the First Spanish Settlement in the Philippines
From Cebu,Legazpi they moved to Panay in 1569

captured by the Spaniards
1570- Villages and Forts at Mindoro were destroyed
May 1570 – the first Spanish Expedition to invade Manila led by
Marshall Martin de Goiti
He led 120 spaniards and 600 Visayan warriors
1571- another invasion happened and personally led by Legazpi,himself
Sulayman and Lakan Dula decided to accept Spanish rule.
June 3, 1571 – Bambolito led his fleet of war boats to fight Sapanish navy.
THE FILIPINO LOST BECAUSE OF THREE REASONS
Lakan Dula and Sulayman did not help the other Filipinos
The Spaniards had superior weapons and discipline;
About 600 cebuano archers helped the Spaniards in the battle.
June 24, 1571 – Legazpi proclaimed Manila as the new capital of the colony
Manila- a place where there are nilad plants

About 400 Filipinos ,including women, were killed in the battle in Cainta
