Way to go, CEO! Nova Southeastern changes online dating.

The Nova Southeastern University CEO Chapter is working to develop the first free family oriented dating and social network, DateMyFamily.com. With the belief that when you date someone you not only date that person, but you also date their family, Nova Southeastern Chapter members have been actively involved with developing this site and the strategies behind it.

The Nova Southeastern University CEO Chapter was founded in 2010 by Cesar R. Cruz and Matias Nunez with the intentions of giving ambitious and motivated students real world business opportunities and experience, all while creating a lucrative, successful business. With the launch of DateMyFamily.com, Nova Southeastern’s CEO Chapter has been able to give student members this opportunity to explore entrepreneurship hands on. This upcoming academic fall semester, they plan to expand their CEO Chapter within NSU and possibly open a chapter at Florida Atlantic University.

So congratulations to the Nova Southeastern CEO Chapter for their entrepreneurial action. Be sure to check out DateMyFamily.com!

If your chapter is doing something outstanding and would like to be featured in the next CEO newsletter, contact [email protected].

CEO Member Biz Showcase

CEO is proud to recognize some of its outstanding member entrepreneurs. You may remember the student businesses that were showcased in the summer newsletter: Nineapair and Inspire Green. Now, we would like to introduce you to some new student businesses!

You always hear about student entrepreneurs who compete in college competitions…but does the time and effort it takes to compete actually help them and their business?

Take Cassie Meyer and her business Knotty Outdoors, for example. After winning 3

rd place in the

2010 National Elevator Pitch Competition at last year’s National CEO Conference, Cassie went on to win 2 other competitions with Knotty Outdoors, a casual outdoor apparel company that provides a modern alternative for women’s hunting apparel and accessories.

As a student at Bradley University, Cassie knew she wanted to be an entrepreneur, but CEO, the National CEO Conference, and the National Elevator Pitch Competition helped spark her interest even more, giving her the inspiration and the leap she needed to help get Knotty Outdoors off the ground. Now you too

can work hard and play knotty at www.knotty-outdoors.com!

Nick Chmura is another CEO student entrepreneur success. Nick also pitched his idea for BetterBoo.com

in the National Elevator Pitch Competition at the 2010 National Conference, and since then acquired angel funding and launched BetterBoo.com on August 1.

You know it can be difficult to find the right gift for someone, and BetterBoo.com makes this possible. Users can build their BetterBoo Box, (like a personal

wish list), and then others can get gifts for them that they TRULY want.

With the help of University of Tampa professors and the promotion from the 2010 CEO Conference, Nick was able to raise funding to build his first version of BetterBoo.com. As an affiliate of Amazon, BetterBoo has already seen revenue through product referrals. So next time you are looking to give a better gift for your boo, go to www.BetterBoo.com. So learn from Nick and Cassie’s success and take advantage of CEO and the opportunities at the National Conference to help make your dreams a reality! Find 2011 National Elevator Pitch Competition guidelines and applications on the CEO Website.

The Kollection is a music distribution website that

showcases the newest music in hip hop, dubstep, electro, and indie. Built for and run by college students, The Kollection supplies new music to young people around the world every single day.

Started in June 2010 by Brian Lovin, a sophomore at Baylor University, The Kollection has been visited nearly 5 million times, with users listening to and downloading more than 12 million songs. The Kollection is the first college music blog to have a full-

featured iOS and Android app, available for free. App users have listened to over 1.25 million songs on their mobile devices within two months of the app’s release! The Kollection is also the only college music blog to

build and market a complete apparel line, shipping products to fans around the world. Brian and his company have been supported by Baylor University’s CEO Chapter Advisor, Mary Abrahams, who has provided Brian with invaluable opportunities that have helped take The Kollection to the next level.

The Kollection has grown from a small idea to a major

player in the music environment within a year, helping to make discovering new music easier than ever. So check out The Kollection at www.thekollection.com.
