Panel discussion aligned with experienced faculty across an array of disciplines who are willing to provide their experiences and

expertise on Strategies for Writing: Knowing Where to Publish.

The panelists will address many questions centered on finding publishing opportunities in journals related to specific fields of study,

strategies for getting published in journals, finding grant opportunities, and strategies for getting grant proposals accepted.

Lunch will be provided from 11:00 AM – 11:30 AM with the panel scheduled to begin at 11:30 AM.

Gender Studies Program's Undergraduate and Graduate

Student Paper Competitions

Submission Deadline April 10, 2018Papers will be judged on the clarity of writing, the centrality of gender and gendered themes within the paper and the sophistication

and analytical merit of the themes and arguments made by the author. Judges will also take into account the disciplinary

background of the author/paper - some aspects of what makes for a great paper in English may be different from makes for a great

paper in psychology, etc.

All entries must come from currently enrolled students. Papers must be solo authored and 30 pages or less. Theses and

dissertations are not appropriate entries for this competition.

Please solicit papers from your students and email them to Kimbery Kelly by April 10. Faculty, if you are willing to serve as a judge

for the competition, please contact Kimbery Kelly as well. The competition is in need of two judges for the undergrad competition

and two for the graduate competition.

The authors of the two winning papers will each receive $250 and of course a line for their CV.

interested in public relations are invited to attend, as well as public relations practitioners and educators. This is the first time the
