The colours in this brochure are to the highest standards in printing, however, should only be used as an indication of actual product design. We always recommend making a final colour selection by viewing displays of larger panels in your nearest retail kitchen showroom to appreciate the movement of the design over a large surface.

Designing Tip: Please be aware that Primordia and Black Tempal have a linear pattern. A change of direction and pattern at intersection needs to be considered.

The Dark Collection

Caesarstone’s new Dark Collection embraces a contemporary trend in kitchens and bathrooms that has recently set a bold tone. As an antidote to light and sometimes-ascetic colour palettes, this softer mood is much more striking and unexpected.

“When we start working on new designs for our Supernatural and Supernatural Ultra products, we take several different qualities from natural stone and combine them. We work on the nuances of the design for many months until we are 100 per cent happy.”

In the early days of development, the design emphasis for quartz surfaces was very much on the technical benefits of the quartz improving its stability and resilience as a kitchen surface. Leaping beyond this uniform approach, Caesarstone® invests in both design and research, enabling its dedicated design team to re-invent the aesthetic qualities too.

With Caesarstone® for nearly a decade, Chief Designer, Mor Krisher, leads a revolutionary approach to design using a far more interpretive process.

“We have been designing surfaces for more than thirty years, and since day one we have intended to push technical and creative boundaries”, says Mor.

“Manufacturing quartz surfaces is a blend of science and art and both aspects hold equal importance.

“The result is a beautifully natural-looking product you can’t find in nature. We can give consumers and architects, something unique that can’t actually be found anywhere else.”

“You have to use your five senses, and be focused on the search for the next trend,” Mor says. “The clues for new trends are everywhere, and you have to be able to collect them all the time. The magic is transforming the trend to a relevant, beautiful product.”

Creating the Dark Collection

Mor’s explorative approach inspired the coveted Metropolitan Collection and recently, the evolution and launch of the Caesarstone® Dark Collection.

“We’ve been working on our dark collection for several years,” says Mor. “We decided to go outdoors and take a journey to the desert to observe nature and explore the organic materials there.”

The transition from day to night opened up a well of new ideas and inspiration for Mor’s team.

“Night changes our perception of what’s around us. We wanted to see how various stones hold different colours and hues at night. Dark colours can be dramatic, bold and mysterious, or warm and comforting”.

“Our senses heighten in the dark and with darkness comes a world of calm and comfort as we return to our homes at night,” Mor explains.

Dark tones are the entire rich world of inspiration rekindling designers’ interest in marbles and slate, natural tactile materials that evoke a sense of warmth.

Introducing his captivating new designs, Black Tempal™, and Empira™, Mor describes the attributes of each.

“The Black Tempal™ design has a complex composition of mineral-like layers. It captures the qualities of natural stone like travertine and slate. Warm whites expand across the slab in contrast to its black base.”

Inspired by the authentic characteristics of natural forms, Mor says, “Empira Black™ is a creative interpretation of dark marble. It’s a design beyond time and trend with all the mystery of the dark stone. Its dark base composed of a rich deep black beautified by fine white natural veins.”

New product development at Caesarstone® takes time – and many prototypes explains Krisher.

“After we develop the concept, we start the search for the right colours,” he says.

“The colours must engage each other and complete one another. Then we start the process of the hunt for the master slab. We are looking for the perfect combination of layers, colours and structure that best represents the concept.”

Mor wants to add colour, texture and complexity to modern kitchen designs.

“I think the trend of sterile kitchens can’t continue,” he says. “Caesarstone® doesn’t like to advertise kitchens today without people. It’s no longer a benchtop with cabinets. It’s a space where food and people are joined together for dialogue. The kitchen is a playground for us to create joyful moments for our families and friends. It’s a place where things happen, where people live.”

Mor concludes that the design process is “an evolution – one thing leads to another. People are becoming bold in their choices. For me, it’s an opportunity to create more. There is always so much more to discover and bring to our customers.”

Surface Finishes

Caesarstone® has expanded our line of finish options to include the rich layered looks of Concrete and Rough along with our sleek, standard Polished finish. These matte, textured surface designs are of the same high-quality quartz as the Polished finish yet present the option of a sensorial dimension with low sheen to satisfy different design styles.

Polished

This elegant and reflective surface evokes luxury and modernity. Smooth to the touch, the Polished finish is durable and long lasting. With minimal care and maintenance, Polished finished surfaces add value to any design with their timeless and contemporary feel.

Natural

This slightly textural finish adds warmth to the grain for a unique sensory feel whilst its satin sheen gently reflects light. Suited to contemporary and classic interior designs, our Natural finish combines the appeal of authentic texture with style and practicality.

Note: The Natural finish does not disguise marks as easily meaning more regular cleaning may be required.

Concrete

This sleek matte Concrete finish is a lightly textured finish inspired by the tactile nature of smooth concrete. It offers low light reflection that brings balance and a classic industrial presence to your design.

Wall LiningsNon-porous, waterproof, mould and mildew resistant, Caesarstone® quartz surfaces are ideal for kitchen splashbacks and bathroom wall linings. A sleek and modern aesthetic minimises joins and maintenance.

Shark Nose Edge

There are many edge profiles that can be achieved using Caesarstone®, and it is important to take the following factors into consideration.

∞ All exposed edges should be fabricated and finished to the same finish as the surface. That can be achieved with Polished and Concrete but not with Rough finish.

∞ The top and bottom of edges must be rounded. Do not create square edges. The larger the surface area of the edge, (ie. radius) the more resistant it is to chipping.

∞ All edges should have a minimum radius of 3mm and for around the sink, 6mm radius is recommended.

Caesarstone® recommends a minimum radius of 3-6mm on any edge detail for optimal strength and durability. There are many edge profiles to choose from, including single thickness 20mm or 30mm slabs, through to mitred aprons.

Cutting a slab for a U-shaped kitchen

This example shows how a single slab of Caesarstone® might be cut for a compact U-shaped kitchen, showing a cut-out for an under mount sink and allowing for a 100mm upstand around the entire length of the work surface and a 10mm overhang.

Watch out: When specifying a large radius corner, the edge of the slab is exposed. With thickness greater than 20mm, multiples of 20mm are preferred and the join may be visible.

Care & Maintenance

Caesarstone’s polished quartz surfaces never need sealing and require very little maintenance to keep them looking like new. The hard, non-porous surface makes cleaning simple.

For everyday routine cleaning of Caesarstone® we recommend wiping the surface with clean warm soapy water (a mild detergent) and a clean damp cloth, followed by drying the surface with a clean towel. We also recommend use of a quality stone safe spray and wipe type cleaner regularly. Like all materials, Caesarstone® benchtops in dark colours will show marks and smears more readily than light colours.

Note: Do NOT put a seal on top of the surface as it will ruin the finish of a Caesarstone® slab and will cause issues for on-going maintenance.

Caesarstone® Concrete and Natural finish designs carry the same stain and scratch resistance as our polished surfaces, never require sealing and are simple to clean. However, these two finishes do not disguise marks and fingerprints as well as the polished designs, meaning more regular cleaning may be required.
