Who We Are and
What We Believe Christian Ladies of Conquest, Inc.
(C.L.O.C.) is a faith based, Christ-
centered non-profit women’s outreach
organization that provides emergency
assistance and services to those families
and individuals in need, with special em-
phasis on women and children.
Following the example of Jesus, C.L.O.C.
believes in a hands-on approach to serv-
ing those in need, whenever and wher-
ever possible. Some of C.L.O.C.’s out-
reach activities are: an annual back-to-
school program, scholarships, elderly
outreach, food baskets for the needy, gift
-filled shoe boxes for underprivileged
children around the world, donations to
local homeless shelters and centers, and
emergency relief donations.
We take our calling to be servants of God
very seriously and we are confident God
will continue to shower His blessings as
we serve His people.
Another Successful Operation Food Basket Luncheon It has become a C.L.O.C. tradition to host a Christmas luncheon in early December, and to assemble food baskets
for families in need. Each year, C.L.O.C. members and volunteers collect and donate canned goods and non-
perishable items for this project. This year’s luncheon was held in the Environmental Room at Josey Ranch Lake
Library in Carrollton, Texas. Praise and worship, a short program, games, door prizes, silent auction fundraiser,
and a delicious lunch were enjoyed by all. Then, volunteers eagerly stuffed large baskets to the brim, complete
with gift cards to purchase perishable items.
After adding our trademark “purple bow”, our
task was completed. Selected families in the
community were recipients of the baskets, and
as always, C.L.O.C. is most grateful for support
and food donations from dedicated members
and volunteers for this annual event.
A wonderful addition to the C.L.O.C. family is our new volunteer, Natalie Andrews. She
is a junior at Parish Episcopal School and a member of the Rosettes, the drill team, and
takes part in the theater department. She also plays soccer, but unfortunately was unable to
participate on the school team this year. She loves to sing, act, and dance, and hopes to
continue her love for the Arts in college. She also has big “hopes and dreams” of pursuing
a professional career in the same field. She stated, “I chose to start volunteering with
C.L.O.C. because I admired the work they do. They reach out to the community and help
people and spread the Word of God.” She admires the women of C.L.O.C. very much, and
is looking forward to continually working with them. C.L.O.C. is blessed to have a new
student volunteer who spends her spare time cheerfully helping others. Welcome Natalie!

As a small non-profit, our organi-zations relies on the generous do-nations and volunteer services of many caring supporters and vol-unteers. For over a decade, the Biley Family -Erick, Versie, Tam-ela, and Allison, have shown God’s love by their giving and service to C.L.O.C. They have demonstrated time and time again their generos-ity, but also their words of encour-agement have been so uplifting. Whenever C.L.O.C. receives a do-nation from the Bileys, there is always a note or letter written by Versie encouraging the C.L.O.C. Ladies to never give up, knowing there is “a crown” for us in heaven. Simply put, if it were not for faith-ful supporters like the Bileys, we would not be able to completely fulfill our mission and fund the

projects, programs, and events we sponsor. Because of their giving hearts, generous donations, and continued support, C.L.O.C. con-tinues to move forward as we en-rich the lives of families, children, students, the elderly, and dis-tressed individuals. Thank you, Biley Family, for your love, sup-port, and words of encouragement!

ADOPT A ROOM Creating A Lasting
Impression! Family Gateway is an organization
committed to ending child homelessness and
ensuring that every child finds a safe and
friendly environment waiting for them when they enter the facility. After attending the Center’s open house several months ago, C.L.O.C. knew then
they wanted to be involved in the Adopt-a-Room Program. The purpose of this program is to provide the incoming family with stability and to en-
courage and empower them for a better life. After speaking with the Center’s Community Director, C.L.O.C. went to work collecting items to deco-
rate a room for an incoming family. After receiving information about the occupants of the room, C.L.O.C. collected bed linens and towels, shower
caddies, toiletries, wall decorations, lamp, trash can, alarm clock, clothes baskets, and books and toys. Upon completion of the project, Willadean,
Marion, and Christie were beaming with joy as they thanked God for blessing and allowing C.L.O.C. to be involved in such an awesome project.

It’s Called Resurrection Day,
Not Easter! (Reprinted from C.L.O.C. Chronicle – April 2010)
As most of you know, I love reminiscing about my
childhood. It was fun growing up in a small town in
Louisiana, but more than anything, I believe celebrating
holidays was the best time of all. Christmas, Thanksgiv-
ing, 4th of July and Easter (that’s what I called it when I
was young) were holidays spent with family and
friends—good eating, gifts, and good times.
Out of all the holidays, one of my favorites WAS Easter.
Why? Because my parents bought my sisters and me a
new outfit from head to toe. New underwear, socks,
shoes and matching purse, dress, headband, or some-
times a matching hat and gloves made up our ensembles.
Mama always cooked a delicious meal and I can still
taste the smoked shoulder ham she always prepared with
cherries and pineapple on top. Our Easter baskets were
filled with chocolate bunnies and marshmallow baby
chicks, along with jelly beans, candy eggs, and dyed
eggs. If that wasn’t enough, my father was Post Com-
mander of the American Legion and we had the task of
dying more than twenty dozen eggs for the Annual VFW
Easter Egg Hunt. Dying all those eggs was stressful for
Mama, but we enjoyed every minute of this yearly
Easter eave ritual. My sisters and I didn’t even mind
being awakened early on Easter morning for Sunrise
Service at Brown Grove Baptist Church because we
knew what the remainder of the day held for us.
Oh, but thanks be to God I am no longer a “milk” but a
“meat” Christian. I celebrate Resurrection Day, not
Easter! I have grown in Christ and I have learned that
Easter does not come from the Bible, but started as a
pagan holiday celebrating the ancient Anglo-Saxon god-
dess of Spring. Its symbols and traditions do not honor
Christ or His sacrifice, but somehow Christian leaders
and followers came to embrace this pagan festival as
their own. I am so thankful to God for a true under-
standing of what we as Christians are supposed to cele-
brate - our risen Savior Jesus Christ!
I’m excited as Resurrection Day approaches because it is
still one of my favorite holidays, however I must be hon-
est because I still buy candy (just finished eating a
chocolate egg), and cooking a picnic ham as Mama use
to do for Resurrection Day dinner. However, I now
know the correct name for one of the most important
Christian days of the year. Let us always be thankful as
we celebrate and praise God for sending His son, Jesus
Christ, who bled, suffered and died for the sins of the
world, and on that third day rose from the grave that we
might have life eternal. Let’s take our minds off the
commercialized Easter holiday and get an understanding
of what the day should really mean to Christians all over
the world !
Happy Resurrection Day!

C.L.O.C. Participates in Annual
Operation Christmas Child Each November C.L.O.C. collects small toys, toiletries, candy,
and goodies to stuff shoe boxes for needy children around the
world. This year, volunteers and C.L.O.C. members decorated
and filled shoe boxes with age-appropriate items for boys and
girls, ages four to fourteen. The following week, twenty-four
boxes were delivered to Prestonwood Church in Plano, and from
there transported to distribution centers and processed for ship-
ping. This is C.L.O.C.’s ninth year participating in this annual
outreach for children - a project that warms our hearts!
