SPACE FOR PLAY & GAMES IN THE CHILDREN’S CITY Children learn about life through play. Their imagination is stimulated by play, their arms and legs are put in motion and soon they are engrossed in play. The City of Copenha- gen has a wealth of opportunities for play. Day-care centres and school yards house playgrounds that provide a wealth of development opportunities during the day. Following on from this, when parents and children are owork and school etc. there are lots of opportunities to choose bet- ween the more than 125 public playgrounds that are always open to the public. Playgrounds constitute some of the places that Copen- hageners want to visit the most with their children. So they are much used with the resulting wear and tear of the play equipment. In 2008 we began a massive renewal project involving all of the public playgrounds in Copenhagen. We have come a long way and expect to be finished with the last playgrounds in 2012. Go out and see the wonderful play-grounds for yourself - and follow the Plads til Leg (Play Space) project at www.kk.dk/legeplads. BASIC PLAYGROUNDS AND EXCURSION PLAYGROUNDS Copenhagen’s playgrounds are wonderfully diverse, both in terms of size and design. You can find both those we call basic playgrounds and those that are worth an excursion. The basic playgrounds are to be found just around the corner from where you live. They attract visitors with their classic play equipment, i.e. swings, sandboxes slides and climbing-frames. All of the excursion playgrounds have something special to oer and invite one to spend more time visiting them. The excursion playgrounds are scattered all over the city and constitute obvious places to visit for day care centres and families that would like to try out something new and dierent. HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT THE MANNED PLAYGROUNDS? Copenhagen has the greatest number of manned play- grounds compared to other Danish towns. A total of 23 playgrounds are manned by paid pedagogical stathat turn a playground visit into a special experience. They carry out activities with the children, both indoors and outdoors. They lend out go-carts, moon-cars and fun bicycles, oer help with homework and introduce new young users to the playground. All of the manned playgrounds have a homely activity house with toys, doll corners, a hobby workshop, etc. Each playground is a small world in itself and all activities and options are open to, and free of charge for, all children and youngsters, regardless of age. The manned playgrounds are typically open from 9.30 am-5pm. They open at 10 pm on Fridays. Every- thing here is connected with the help of ropes, tree trunks, rods and rope-ladders. It has a large ball cage and a petanque court. Husumparken - Nordrupvej 16 ( 0-16 year olds) This is a very popular manned playground. Amongst other things it has a playground ropeway, climbing hill, spider’s web, rainbow seesaw, swings, bonfire place and access to moon-cars and fun bicycles. Liselundvej - opposite Brønshøjgårdsvej 25 (3-14 year olds) A green activity venue situated next to Brønshøj School’s playing-fields. The playground has a pyramid net climber and a bird’s nest swing. Gyngemosen - next to Langhusvej (3-14 year olds) Large nature playground on the edge of the marsh. Willow huts, obstacle course made out of tree trunks and stones, bird’s nest swing, slide and a rocking raft. Vestvolden - next to Bystævnet (3-10 year olds) Playground located on the former ramparts, whose slope has been used to make a slide. Here you can find swings, a jungle gym and playing field. To be renovated in 2011-2012. Vestvolden - next to Mørkhøjvej (3-10 year olds) A homely playground, it has one of the city’s most enter- taining obstacle courses. Here you can also find fitness equipment, a slide and alternative swings. Utterslev Mose - at Pilesvinget 5 ( 3-12 year olds) A pirate playground in the open meadow, it is situated next to the path encircling the marsh. Pirate boat, treasure chest, green islands and a whole lot more. Neighbour to a fitness pavilion. Utterslev Mose - next to Pilesvinget 65 ( 3-10 year olds) ’The spider playground’ is situated right next to the water and includes an enormous spider whose inner cavity can be conquered by climbing its long legs or a rope-ladder. Gislingevej - Gislingevej/Grevingevej (3-14 year olds) A small gravel clad playground in the housing area behind Korsager School. It has a climbing tower, climbing ropes, a slide, swings, fly rods, a threesome seesaw and a ’thing- stead’ with stepping stones. Brønshøjparken - next to Hyrdevangen ( 0-14 year olds) The playground has a high pyramid net climber, swings, a ’the-earth-is-made-of-lava’ course, fitness equipment, jungle gym, basketball net and fun pavement games. BRØNSHØJ, HUSUM AMAGER ØST Prags Boulevard - Prags Boulevard (From 6 year of age) The town park has seven activity sections where children, youngsters and adults can play, perform, play ball and street hockey, skate and enjoy the sun. The sections are to be renovated in 2011. Lergravsparken - Lergravsvej 16 (0-16 year olds) This is a large manned playground with attractions, such as a paddling pool, huge net climber and a fun ropeway. There is a play area for the youngest children with sand play, baby swings, etc. Moselgade - Moselgade/Lergravsvej (4-10 year olds) The playground is situated in a small passageway between two streets. It has a marked bicycle course, small flowerbeds and a couple of benches. To be renovated in 2012. Rødegårdsparken - next to Øresundsvej 39 (0-14 year olds) The playground has a sandbox, tree trunk climbers with net- ting, bird’s nest swings, and a big ball cage. In the park itself there are two table football units. To be renovated in 2011. Bredegrund - Bredegrund 8 (0-16 year olds) This is a wonderful adventure playground. Built by children and adults it has towers and a big play boat. It is combined with an ordinary playground for younger children. Amager Strandpark - next to kilometerbroen (3-12 year olds) A small beach playground situated only a few metres from the water’s edge of the beach park’s children friendly inner lagoon. Here you can find a roller boom, net climber, stubs and a tightrope. To be renovated in 2011. Højdevej - Højdevej/Kirkegårdsvej (3-10 year olds) Homely garden with a wonderful small playground bathed in sun and greenery. It has a big sandbox and a climbing frame situated up against an old bunker. Sundby torv/ Filipsparken - Parmagade 45 (0-16 year olds) Manned playground with a trapeze climbing-frame, swings, jungle gym, a spider’s web, sand play, ball cage and pavement games such as ludo and squareball. Children can borrow roller-skates and all kinds of fun bicycles here. Sundbyøster Plads (0-14 year olds) The ’East of the Sun’ playground consists of one, big, undula- ting play landscape, whose twining wheelchair paths make it easy for handicapped children to be a part of the game. Kastrup Fort - next to the southern bastion (2-12 year olds) Here you can find play facilities for the youngest children on the ramparts and for older children below the ramparts. To be renovated in 2011. Sundbyvester Park - next to Irlandsvej (0-16 year olds) A triangular, classicistic park with an open-plan playground. It has a basketball court, trampoline, toddler swings, spin- ning bars and a jungle gym. Rødelandsvej - Vejlands Alle/Rødelandsvej (3-10 year olds) This is a local playground with a sand river that winds its way through hills and valleys with climbers, stubs, stake huts and a slide. Georginevej - Georginevej/Gyldenlakvej (3-10 year olds) A lush town garden with an integrated playground. Bicycle courses, a trampoline, forest of trunks, rainbow seesaw and gigantic hammock. Ørestad Bypark - C.F. - Møllers Allé (From 3 year of age) The Ørestad area’s many families have gained their first park with play islands sprinkled throughout the area. Amongst other things there is a bicycle course island, a beach volley- ball island and a hilly island. Sundbyvester Plads (3-10 year olds) This playground contains water games and stepping stones, a winding sand stream, granite fish, a basketball court, balance bench climbing-frame. Himmelhøj Naturlegeplads (All ages) Alfio Bonnano, the artist’s nature playground with the big Amager-ark as its landmark. It also has a spectacular bonfire site, a ’fox den’ and a shelter. It borders on to Nature Centre Amager. Remiseparken - Remiseparken southwest (3-10 year olds) Ascend the hill and the tower on top of it and take a go down the long tube. On the gravelled square next to the hill there is a curvy climbing sculpture. To be renovated in 2011. THE CITY’S PLAYGROUNDS AMAGER VEST Havneparken - Islands Brygge north (From 6 year of age) An activity area for youngsters. It has a skateboard rink, football and basketball facilities. Including ramps, plinths, steps and tribunals. Havneparken - Islands Brygge south (3-10 year olds) An enclosed toddler playground, which has a suspension bridge, troll hills, tunnels, a roller boom and a long suspen- sion bridge. It is situated next to a beach volleyball court, swings and a climbing wall. To be renovated in 2012. Gunløgsgade - Gunløgsgade 26 (0-16 year olds) A new manned playground with a play area and large playing field has been built above the new parking facility. Children can borrow go-carts, bicycles, rackets, balls etc. in the house. Norgesgade - between Norgesgade 26-56 (0-14 year olds) A classic square in a Copenhagen housing block, it has been converted into a playground. It has a ball cage, rainbow seesaw, gigantic hammock, swings, pavement hopscotch games, etc. Artillerivej - next to Axel Heides Gade (3-8 year olds) A small, exciting nature playground is planned for this site. To be established in 2011. Sæterdalsgade - opposite Sætersdalgade 1-15 (3-8 year olds) A sand area with swings and a the-earth-is-lava course. A jungle path with large stepping stones. Pavement courts with small rolling hills, and a slide. To be renovated in 2011. Remiseparken- Bondegården (0-16 year olds) A big animal playground located at one of Amager’s old farms. There is a cow, pig, ponies, hens, rabbits and goats that the children help minding. Remiseparken - Byggelegepladsen (From 4 year of age) Children and adults can help each other add to the many tree-huts at ”Byggeren” Self-built castles, suspension bridge, ropeway, labyrinth etc. that can be used when playing tag and knights. Skotlands Plads - between Sundholmsvej 95-107 This is a big playground next to a housing block. It has a jungle gym, slide, swings, sandbox, rocking animals, playhouse and playing field with a ball game wall. To be renovated in 2011. DO YOU KOW THIS PLAYGROUND? Utterslev Mose - Pilevænget 45 Utterslev Mose - next to Engsvinget (5-12 year olds) The art playground was created by artist Peter Land. The playground’s climber is shaped like a gigantic, open-mouthed boy’s head that can be explored inside and out. Rørsangervej - Rørsangervej 82 (3-14 year olds) Perhaps the best kept secret of the city: a hilly landscape of rubber encircled by low housing blocks. The soft hills are for running, rolling, sliding, skating and crawling on. Hulgårds Plads - Hulgårds Plads 6 (0-16 year olds) Wonderful, green oasis situated between the wide streets. It has a ’monkey’s grotto’, a circular ball cage and an exciting bicycle course. It also has a paddling pool, small lawns and an activity house with games, toys and free activities for the children. Degnestavnen - Degnestavnen 20 (0-16 year olds) This is one of the city’s biggest, manned playgrounds with a wide range of facilities, such as a ropeway, playing fields, a picnic area, paddling pool, water games and a birch grove with secret paths. Mejsevænget - Mejsevænget Legegade (2-8 year olds) A small and cosy playground nestled between two housing blocks. With a ball cage, playhouse, climbing-frame, rocking animals, somersault bars. To be renovated in 2011. Lersøparken - In the middle of the park (0-12 year olds) A fun playground built out of tree trunks and constructed so that children can climb all over it without touching the ground. It has a tower, slide, fireman’s ladder, rope-climber, rope-ladder, swings, a sandbox and playhouse. Bispebjerg Parkalle - next to Frederiksborgvej (0-14 year olds) Here you can find ‘the elephant playground’ with its fun elephant slide, big jungle gym, roundabout, balancing course and equipped sandbox. Not to mention its sunken playing field that can be used as an ice-rink in wintertime. Utterslev Mose - next to Vigen (3-14 year olds) A homely nature playground situated at the eastern end of the marsh. Jungle course with tree trunks, bars, bridges and towers for playing tag and travelling. Playhouse, tire swings, slide and a climbing wall for the youngest visitors. BISPEBJERG, NORDVEST Alexandravej - behind Folmer Bendtsens Plads (0-6 year olds) Situated in a green angle between Frederikssundsvej and Lygten are a few swings and some rocking animals. It was here that Folmer Bendtsen, a Danish artist, painted a picture entitled ’Playground, Alexandravej’ in 1936. (0-14 year olds)

Sæterdalsgade - opposite Sætersdalgade 1-15 (3-8 year olds)A sand area with swings and a the-earth-is-lava course. A jungle path with large stepping stones. Pavement courts with small rolling hills, and a slide. To be renovated in 2011.

Remiseparken- Bondegården (0-16 year olds)A big animal playground located at one of Amager’s old farms. There is a cow, pig, ponies, hens, rabbits and goats that the children help minding.

Remiseparken - Byggelegepladsen (From 4 year of age) Children and adults can help each other add to the many tree-huts at ”Byggeren” Self-built castles, suspension bridge, ropeway, labyrinth etc. that can be used when playing tag and knights.

Skotlands Plads - between Sundholmsvej 95-107This is a big playground next to a housing block. It has a jungle gym, slide, swings, sandbox, rocking animals, playhouse and playing field with a ball game wall. To be renovated in 2011.

Utterslev Mose - Pilevænget45

Utterslev Mose - next to Engsvinget (5-12 year olds)The art playground was created by artist Peter Land. The playground’s climber is shaped like a gigantic, open-mouthed boy’s head that can be explored inside and out.

Rørsangervej - Rørsangervej 82 (3-14 year olds)Perhaps the best kept secret of the city: a hilly landscape of rubber encircled by low housing blocks. The soft hills are for running, rolling, sliding, skating and crawling on.

Hulgårds Plads - Hulgårds Plads 6 (0-16 year olds)Wonderful, green oasis situated between the wide streets. It has a ’monkey’s grotto’, a circular ball cage and an exciting bicycle course. It also has a paddling pool, small lawns and an activity house with games, toys and free activities for the children.

Degnestavnen - Degnestavnen 20 (0-16 year olds)This is one of the city’s biggest, manned playgrounds with a wide range of facilities, such as a ropeway, playing fields, a picnic area, paddling pool, water games and a birch grove with secret paths.

Mejsevænget - Mejsevænget Legegade (2-8 year olds)A small and cosy playground nestled between two housing blocks. With a ball cage, playhouse, climbing-frame, rocking animals, somersault bars. To be renovated in 2011.

Lersøparken - In the middle of the park (0-12 year olds)A fun playground built out of tree trunks and constructed so that children can climb all over it without touching the ground. It has a tower, slide, fireman’s ladder, rope-climber, rope-ladder, swings, a sandbox and playhouse.

Bispebjerg Parkalle - next to Frederiksborgvej (0-14 year olds)Here you can find ‘the elephant playground’ with its fun elephant slide, big jungle gym, roundabout, balancing course and equipped sandbox. Not to mention its sunken playing field that can be used as an ice-rink in wintertime.

Utterslev Mose - next to Vigen (3-14 year olds)A homely nature playground situated at the eastern end of the marsh. Jungle course with tree trunks, bars, bridges and towers for playing tag and travelling. Playhouse, tire swings, slide and a climbing wall for the youngest visitors.

BISPEBJERG, NORDVEST

Alexandravej - behind Folmer Bendtsens Plads (0-6 year olds)Situated in a green angle between Frederikssundsvej and Lygten are a few swings and some rocking animals. It was here that Folmer Bendtsen, a Danish artist, painted a picture entitled ’Playground, Alexandravej’ in 1936.

THE CITY’S PLAYGROUNDSNØRREBRO

Folkets Park - Stengade 50 (3-8 year olds)This is a small and different kind of playground with climbing equipment, swings and small concrete hills for roller skating or skateboarding.

Lersø Parkalle - next to Gyritegade (3-8 year olds)Here is a fenced-in playground with swings, a slide and one long tag-course with fireman ropes. To be renovated in 2011.

Balders Plads - next to Balders Plads (0-14 year olds)Art playground decorated by Tanja Rau in 2009 with a big jungle gym, ’the-earth-is-lava course’, a sandbox and a fenced-in playing field.

Odinsgade - between Jagtvej og Thorsgade (0-10 year olds)It is built out of natural materials. Has a ropeway, bird’s nest swing, slide and other toddler play equipment. To be renovated in 2012.

Guldbergs Plads (2-12 year olds)Has huge hammocks, a cube climber, swings and rubber hills with a somersault bar and balance board.

Allersgade - between Allersgade og Thorsgade (2-8 year olds)This is a hilly play landscape in a small corner surrounded by classic Copenhagen houses and the Thorshave town park.

Bispeengen - Hillerødgade 23B (0-16 year olds)Big playground with activities for all ages, amongst other things a big climber, mini-roundabout, sandbox play, bicycle courses and a ball cage.

Nørrebroparken- Stefansgade 30 (0-16 year olds)Play in an airplane, the wooden ships and the big whale. There are also Ping-Pong facilities, a paddling lake, swings, a playing field, play bicycles, indoor games and play. To be renovated in 2011.

Udbygade - Udbygade/Guldbergsgade/Sjællandsgade This is a great setting, i.e. on an open square encircled by mature linden trees. There is a bird’s nest swing and a big climber with slides, a suspension bridge and a whole lot more.

Nørrebro Skatepark (From 6 year of age)Partially covered skate-boarding landscape with all the heart could desire in terms of ledges, hips, rails, steps and a flat setup with rail and curb. Come and skate!

Hans Tavsens Park west - Hans Tavsens Gade 40 This is an Eldorado for older children and youngsters. Multi-rinks for football, handball, volleyball, tennis, badminton, mini-golf, and Ping-Pong.

Ravsnborggade - next to Sankt Hans Gade 13

It is a multi-space making it possible for children and young-sters to both skate and play ball. It has a playing field for football, basketball, roller-hockey and a projector mast for showing films. To be renovated in 2012.

Sankt Hans Gade - Sankt Hans Gade 3-5 (0-8 year olds)Maritime playground with islands covered in artificial grass, blue ’sea’, a suspension bridge and obstacle courses.

Hans Tavsens Park east - Hans Tavsens Gade 40 Lots of play in the sun and shade. Amongst other things a fun bicycle course, sand river with a bridge, castle climbers, a paddling pool and playing field. One can borrow moon-cars, play things and balls.

Blågårds Plads - western end (1- 8 year olds)Art playground by Eva Steen Christensen. Swings and a long climbing wall resembling a papercutting. Neighbour to Kai Nielsen’s famous sculptures.

VESTERBRO, KONGENS ENGHAVE

Saxoparken (0-16 year olds)Small play islands sprinkled across Saxoparken. It has swings, somersault bars, a big ball cage, lizard park and a climbing-frame. Neighbour to Vesterbro Naturværksted (nature workshop).

Skydebanehaven - Mathæusgade (0-16 year olds)A manned playground with a big and beautiful play parrot, bicycle courses with asphalt hills, a paddling pool, pyramid net climber, ball cages, etc.

Broagergade - Broager Legegade (0-8 year olds)Fenced-in play area at the end of the street. It has a big play castle where one can slide and crawl on one’s knees and tummy.

Enghaveparken - Ejderstedsgade 1 (0-16 year olds)Here is a big and lively manned playground with a rope-way, tall pyramid net climber, swings, small sunny hills, roundabouts and a jungle gym with a hoist.

Sønder Boulevard - In front of Bodilsgade (3-10 year olds)The good boat Trinidad has run aground and in the ’sea’ around it boat-crates, rafts and tree trunks are floating - ready to be climbed and crawled on.

Enghave Plads (From 6 year of age)Here you will find an activity space with a big skate course made by local skateboarding experts. A big ball cage hidden behind a low circular hedge and tall creeper clad fence.

Rektorparken - next to Vestre Kirkegårds Allé (0-8 year olds)A small, screened-off playground with rocking animals, a slide, sandbox, playing field and a jungle path between the trees. To be renovated in 2011.

Sjælør Boulevard - next to Mozartsvej (2-16 year olds)This playground is for both toddlers and older children. It has a jungle gym, ball cage and swings, etc. To be renovated in 2011.

Vigerslevparken - next to Engdraget (3-8 year olds)The playground is situated on the cycling route through the park. It has a number of alternative play equipment, such as an eggcup roundabout, a ’turning-bench’ and a spider’s web.

VALBY

Carl Langes Vej - between Eschrichtsvej og Panumsvej The forest troll is watching over its hiding place. In addition there is a jungle gym, swings, rocking animals and a sandbox.

Steins Plads - between Eschrichtsvej og Steinsvej It is situated on a classic square in one of Valby’s old villa neighbourhoods. It has an undulating asphalt course for skateboarders and young cyclists play towers, a slide, small roundabouts, rocking animals and a swing.

Trekronergade - Vigerslev Allé/Valgårdsve (2-8 year olds)Here is a small fenced-in playground set in the shade of mature lush trees. Two old bunkers have been made into play hills with a suspension bridge between them.

Vilhelm Thomsens Alle - Vilhelm Thomsens Allé 42 Here is a public garden with small play islands for toddlers and slightly older children. There are rocking animals, swings and a small playing field.

Lykkebovej - opposite Højbovej (3-10 year olds)This is a fitness-inspired playground with a spider’s web, slalom machine, a bird’s nest swing, springy stubs and a ’turning bench’.

Vigerslevparken - next to Lykkebovej (0-8 year olds)Situated on the cycling route through the park that has everything a toddler could wish for: swings, a climbing wall, a slide, a pirate landscape including a pirate bridge, rope net-ting for swinging in and a sandbox full of toys.

Vigerslev Alle - next to Baunagervej Rækkehuse A green triangle nestled between cute houses. Here is a sand-area for tiny tots with a seesaw, baby swing and sand cake table. A challenging Tarzan course for the older children with bridges, ropes, towers and a climbing wall.

Kirsebærhaven - Kirsebærhaven 14 (3-10 year olds)A big local playground with lawns, barbecue areas and unlimited play options: a huge hammock, pyramid climber, jungle gym, swings, a huge snail, and a skate area with ramps and a wall.

Valbyparken - Kærestehaven (6-10 year olds)Here is a theme garden in the middle of the park designed by children from Valby Skole at the turn of the millennium. It includes a forest area with a jungle path and a romantic bridge over a small lake. To be renovated in 2011.

Valbyparkens naturlegeplads - Hammelstrupvej 42 This is a big hilly nature area connected by a circular gangway and tall towers. Amongst other things you will find a snail hill, balance equipment, a petanque court, a bonfire site. One can also borrow play equipment and other things free of charge.

Valbyparken - next to Cafe Rosenhaven (0-8 year olds)This is a miniature nature playground with carved wooden figures that one can climb on, e.g. a hippo and a troll. A labyrinth made out of 1.300 stepping stones weaving in and out amongst the trees.

Vigerslevparken - next to Stakhaven (From 3 year of age)This is a nature playground in a hilly landscape with lots of play and sensory impressions. Here you will find huge swings, a jungle gym, totem poles with steps carved into them and climbing ropes.

Grøndalsvænge Alle - next to Morbærvej (3-10 year olds)There is a small nature playground under Grøndalsparken’s tall trees. It has a pyramid for crawling on, somersault bars, swings, rocking animals and stepping stones for playing tag.

Grøndal Torv - opposite Godthåbsvej 199-203 (3-10 year olds)A combined playground and garden in the shade of the plane trees.

Fuglsang Alle - opposite Beldringevej (2-8 year olds)A lovely big playground situated in an older villa neighbour-hood. It also has a toddler area with sand play, a bird’s nest swing and seesaws. There is a play tower with a slide, swing poles, rope-ladders and a trampoline.

Genforeningspladsen south - next to Mågevej (All ages)This is a shady park with a small play corner. It also has hammocks and trampolines.

Nørager Plads - Nørager Plads 23 (0-16 year olds)This is a grassy playground with a big area including tower climbers and balance equipment. There is a ball cage, rocking animals, a hill for playing on, etc.

Genforeningspladsen north - Hulgårdsvej 86-90 Here is a big sandbox with a play castle, swings, a sunny lawn, rowan trees and butterfly bushes. The playground borders on to a sports complex that is transformed into Scandinavia’s largest outdoor skating rink in winter.

Jyllingevej - opposite Jernbane Allé (From 6 year of age)A skate complex for skateboards, roller-skates, trick-bicycles and scooters. It is made of high quality asphalt with plinths and rails of various levels of difficulty. A bird’s nest swing and outdoor designer furniture.

Krogebjergparken - next to Roshagevej (3-10 year olds)A big sand area surrounded by grassy banks and lawns for playing, running and playing ball. It has a tall pyramid net, rubber hammocks and two huge swings.

Rødkildeparken - next to Hvidkildevej (3-14 year olds)A popular nature playground with a play boat, ropeway, slides, water games, balance booms, swings, etc.

VANLØSE

Skibelundvej - Skibelundvej 12 (3-14 year olds)This is a big local playground in a homely housing complex. Here one can climb, slide, twist, cycle, seesaw, swing and play ball. There is also a jungle path in the scrub.

Damhusengen - next to Vanløse Byvej (3-10 year olds)A big open playground in the meadow built out of natural building materials. A snake shaped hill marks the play-ground’s boundary. The playground has monkey bars, a somersault bar, a slide and ’mountaineering’ ropes.

Grøndalsparken - opposite Arnestedet (0-14 year olds)A big playground with an exciting Tarzan course made out of natural materials, trampolines, a slide, rocking animals, etc. It also has a sun temple depicting the four seasons. Fitness equipment is to be added in 2011.

Damhusengen - next to Elvergårdsvej (3-10 year olds)’Gåselegepladsen’ (The goose playground) is situated on the edge of the meadow and is almost always full of children. It has a ’mock well with a sweep’, a jungle gym with steps made out of tree trunks, balance rope, a slide etc.

BaNanna Park - Nannasgade 6 (0-16 year olds)One of the city’s funniest parks situated in outer Nørrebro, it has a tall portal climber, swings, and a tunnel slide and look-out tower. It also has a bicycle course and a 30 metres long banana in the grass on which one can slide and run.

Wesselsgade - Wesselsgade 12-16 (0-16 year olds)Versatile playground surrounded by town-houses and mature tall trees. Play for children and youngsters of all ages.

Ørstedsparken - opposite Ahlefeldtsgade 16 (0-6 year olds)This is the city’s oldest municipal playground. It is now a big split-level playground with numerous play facilities.

Østre Anlæg - next to Sølvtorvet (0-6 year olds)Touching the works of art in the ’Sofarækken’ art playground is allowed. Formed by artist Nina Saunders.

Nikolaj Plads - in front of Nikolaj Plads 5-11 (0-6 year olds)Art playground for toddlers - the playground was created by an artist-group called Randi & Katrine.

Østre Anlæg - Stockholmsgade 24 (0-14 year olds)A huge playground with huge swings, a jungle gym built into the slope, an old play boat and a ball cage.

Kongens Have - next to Caféen (3-8 year olds)The playground includes both fire-breathing dragons, deep sandpits and a view of Rosenborg Slot (castle). Clearly worth a fairy-tale game of princes and princesses.

Israels Plads - next to Ahlefeldtsgade (0-16 year olds)This is a newly renovated playground with climbing trunks, balance booms, stubs and a roundabout seesaw. There are big playing fields on the square itself.

Kastellet - next to Gustafkirken (0-8 year olds)It is situated on one of the advanced bastions. It includes a sandbox and a climber with a suspension bridge, slide and swings. To be renovated in 2011.

Sankt Annæ Plads - Sankt Annæ Plads 1-13 (0-6 year olds)Toddler playground in the green installation situated 100 metres from Amalienborg (i.e. the royal palace), Livgarden (the Royal Life Guards) and Nyhavn.

Gammelvagt - Gammel Vagt 5 (0-14 year olds)This homely playground is situated in a lovely square in the historical Frederiksstad neighbourhood. Amongst other things there is a. ball cage, a play tower with a hoist and buckets, tunnel pipes and bicycle courses.

Christianshavns Vold - on Panterens Bastion (0-6 year olds)This is a tiny toddler playground up on the old ramparts terrain from the 1600s. There is a seesaw, rocking animals, a balance boom and large sandbox.

Langelinieanlægget - next to Nordre Toldbod (0-6 year olds)A white washed maritime playground with a lookout drum, play ship, climbing stern, portholes, rope ladders looking on to The Little Mermaid and Trekroner.

Ørstedsparken - Nørre Farimagsgade 2 (0-16 year olds)This is a popular manned playground with electronic play equipment and team games. Lots of play opportunities.

Hauser Plads - opposite Hauser Plads 16The playground will be closed from 2010-2012 due to construction under Hauser Plads. Re-opening in 2012 in renewed form.

Christianshavns Vold - on Elefantens Bastion (0-16 year olds)This is a fantastic playground that is situated on the rampart installation. Children of all ages can have a pleasant time playing here.

Classens Have - Classensgade/Arendalsgade (0-6 year olds)Behind the tall housing complexes in Classensgade lies a lush garden with a small playground. To be renovated in 2011.

Havnegades trampolinpromenade - Havnegade (All ages)In 2011 the city will gain a new 450 metres long waterside promenade with booths, stages and greenery and a row of big trampolines and a fenced in playing field for multiple ball games.

ØSTERBRO

Fredens Park - Fredensgade/Søpassagen (0-14 year olds)It has trampolines, family hammock, seesaws, swings, a jungle gym and a big sandbox. It is situated next to Søerne (the lakes) and the outdoor fitness-pavilions.

Kildevældsparken - Vognmandsmarken 69 (0-16 year olds)This is a large manned playground with lots of fun activities, such as twist bread, treasure hunt and painting workshop.

Fælledparken - Trafiklegepladsen (2-12 year olds)Gunnar Nu Hansens Plads 10 A child-size traffic town with small streets, bicycle paths, traffic lights and petrol pumps so that small motorists can train their road safety skills.

Fælledparken - Serridslevvej north (0-16 year olds)This is a large open playground in Fælledparken with swings, a jungle gym, somersault bars, a slide, a net climber and tree climbers.

Blegdamsremisen - Blegdamsvej 132A (0-12 year olds)This is an indoor playground in a converted tramcar garage. It has a big pirate’s boat, a ropeway, playing fields, Ping-Pong and a creative workshop.

Fælledparken - Sansehaven next to Trianglen (All ages)This is an untraditional playground with labyrinths and lots of sensory experiences. There are scented flower-beds, foun- tains with purling water, sculptures and chimes with sound.

Silkeborg Plads (0-8 year olds)A play and sunny spot frequently used by local families.

Musholmgade - Musholmgade Legegade (0-8 year olds)This is a homely play street on a former street. There are lots of play equipment and lots of greenery.

Fælledparken - Skaterparken (From 6 year of age)Borgmester Jensens Allé, sydThis is one of Scandinavia’s largest and best skate parks. Almost 5.000 m² with three levels of difficulty and specially developed surfacing.

Fælledparken - Frederik V’s Vej 4 (0-12 year olds)To be converted into a ’tower playground’ in 2011. The towers of Copenhagen are to be built in miniature size and will be given various play functions for sliding and climbing.

Livjægergade - Rosenvængets Allé/Livjægergade Here you can find a big jungle gym with four towers. For the toddlers there is a sandbox, playhouses, a baby swing, a bird’s nest swing and a small climber with a slide.

Bopa Plads (0-4 year olds)This is a tiny toddler playground on one of Østerbro’s cosiest café corners. There are big and beautiful pieces of fruit carved out of wood to crawl and climb on.

Svendborggade - Svendborggade/Nyborggade (0-8 year olds)A town garden with space for play and hanging out. There is a playhouse, slide, sandbox, swings, a spinner and paths with flower- and herb-beds.

Fælledparken - Serridslevvej south (All ages)The playground is situated on an open square with a ball cage and petanque courts. There is a 4-man seesaw, climbing trunks, a somersault bar, swings and a sandbox.

131 Fælledparken - Soppesøen (0-6 year olds)This is a big shallow paddling lake for toddlers with sunny lawns and a kiosk. Open every day from the 6th of June - 1st of September between 11:00-18:00 hrs.

Amorparken - Tagensvej/Nørre Alle (0-4 year olds)This is a tiny playground with a bird’s nest swing, tables and benches.

Århus Plads - Århus Plads 2-6 (3-14 year olds)This is a pirate playground with a big stranded boat. It has a climbing wall, crawly tag, a ball cage, steep slide and a whole lot more.
