This is the Body of Christ.
This afternoon, we will proclaim “This is the Body of Christ” to the world in a procession around the neighborhood. We will sing hymns of praise and show those around us what we believe, what we cherish, what we venerate, this "gift of finest wheat" that satisfies our hungry hearts.
This is the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ.
It's true that we mark this feast just once a year, but we actually celebrate this gift every time we go to Mass. Every time we receive the Eucharist, we celebrate Corpus Christi, becoming living tabernacles, human monstrances, carrying Christ into the world in our own individual Eucharistic processions. Every day, we are called to bear witness to Christ in us — and to do what the deacon or priest announces at the end of Mass, "Go in peace, glorifying the Lord by your life."
Do we understand that?
Look around you. We are tabernacles of our Lord, living vessels of our savior, witnesses to his life and love.
How do we show that to the world?
How do we reflect what we receive?
This Sunday, let us stop and look and listen. Consider more deeply what happens when you approach to receive Communion. Behold a miracle and mystery, and the greatest ongoing gift.
It's not just a wafer. It's not just a piece of bread.
It’s our hope. This is our salvation. This is the One who gave His all for all of us.

¡Caminado con Jesús!
Pensando en voz alta…….
¡Ha llegado el verano! Con temperaturas cálidas, y días largos y soleados esta estación trae consigo el crecimiento intenso de muchas de las frutas y de los vegetales que comemos.
Aquí y ahora, sin embargo, ponemos nuestra atención en una clase diferente de alimento: La Eucaristía.
El pueblo de Dios trae las ofrendas del pan y el vino y, por medio del sacerdote, esas ofrendas son bendecidas por Dios y se convierten en el Cuerpo y la Sangre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
En esta comida que compartimos hoy en conmemoración de la Ultima Cena donde encontramos nuestro verdadero sustento.
“Solemnidad del Cuerpo y la Sangre del Señor”
Cada una de las lecturas de hoy tiene que ver con el alimento, específicamente con el pan, y esto es algo intencional debido a la fiesta que celebramos.
El Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo son alimento espiritual que nos sustenta en nuestra misión.
Sin embargo, hay otro elemento común en las lecturas, el cual es de igual importancia: la bendición de Dios. Melquisedec ofreció pan y vino, y después bendijo a Abram con una oración.
San Pablo nos narra cómo Jesús tomo pan y vino, dio gracias a Dios y, ya convertidos en su cuerpo y su sangre, los compartió con sus discípulos.
En el Evangelio vemos que Jesús miro al cielo y bendijo los panes y los pescados antes de distribuirlos a las multitudes. No obstante lo importante que era el alimento para la nutrición y el sustento, lo esencial era dar gracias a quien en definitiva lo provee.
Los discípulos fueron una parte esencial del milagro descrito en el Evangelio, aunque este hecho pudiera pasarse fácilmente por alto.
No fue suficiente que Jesús multiplicara el alimento para que hubiese suficiente para todos comer, sino que alguien tuvo que distribuir el pan y los pescados a los millares de personas que estaban allí presentes.
Los quiero, reciban mi bendición y no se les olvide orar por mí.

Es una advocación mariana. La imagen original es un icono procedente de Creta y venerada en Roma en la iglesia de los Agustinos, a finales del siglo XV, y desde 1866 en la iglesia de San Alfonso del Esquilino, en Roma.

An Open House will be held in the school cafeteria on Sun-day, June 30th, following the 11:00 am Spanish Mass for parents of Latino children. Latino parents of children cur-rently attending St. Mary’s School will speak about their
experiences at St. Mary’s School. Refreshments will be served. St. Mary’s School has been blessed with a $5,000 grant from the Southwest Initiative Foundation’s Spring 2019 Early Care and Edu-cation Grant. These monies will be used for the startup of the “Little Blessings Preschool” at St. Mary’s. Thank you to the South-west Initiative Foundation and its supporters for all they do for our local community.
Update: The painting of the preschool room and kinder-garten through sixth grade rooms is complete. Next up is
the music room, computer lab, library, and cafeteria. The next work night will be Wednesday, June 26th, starting at 6:30. We need help washing walls, taping and painting!
