At its most recent meeting, the Finance Committee decided that we needed to ask for the congregation’s help in attaining a larger payout of our connectional giving this year. My “end of week emails” have been giving you more information regarding each apportionment and the work done by the money given. Our total appor-tionments amount to $23,972.00 and we will have paid roughly 11% of that amount by the end of May. Personally, I would like to see our congregation pay 75% of our total connectional ministry giving by the end of the year and that amounts to $17,979. I truly believe we can do that! Below is the list of apportionments that can be adopted. The Finance Com-mittee would like to focus on the mandatory appointments first. (These ap-portionments, by our Book of Discipline are supposed to be paid at the same percentage rate as you pay your pastor’s salary. Therefore, if a congregation pays 100% of their pastor’s salary then 100% of these apportionments should be paid.) The mandatory apportionments are listed below. You are invited to look at the list, pick an apportionment (maybe 2 or 3) then contact Donna and share that information with her. I have great confidence that we can achieve a larger payout than in the past few years. Again, to pro-vide leadership by example, Lisa and I will do our part to help with the payout of our mandatory apportionments, but we will also adopt the Oklahoma City University line item, especially since yours truly is an alumnus of that institu-tion. Please help if you can! In Christ’s Peace, Pastor Mark
Other apportionments are on the attached sheet.

SUMMER CAMPS
Wednesday Evening Bible Study After a short hiatus, the Wednesday evening Bible study will resume on Wednesday, June 20th at 6:15pm. We will begin a 13-week study on the Old Testament books of Ruth and Esther. Study books are available for $11 each and can be found on the information table in the Fellowship Hall. These O.T. books, where the main characters are women, give us wonderful examples of courage and commitment to God and God’s Kingdom. Invite someone to attend with you!
Mark Gone for Camp Mark will be out of the pulpit a couple of Sundays during the summer due to his participa-tion in Joy Camp with the first being on June 24th. **See Related Article** You are en-couraged to keep all of our workers for New Day and Sonshine camps in your prayers!
Reception for New Superintendent You may or may not be aware that at Annual Conference Dr. Tener, our D.S. for the past two years, will be appointed to First UMC in Enid. Our new superintendent will be Dr. Victor McCullough. The Heartland District will be having a farewell reception for Greg and Judy Tener on Wednesday, May 30th following the Ordination Service. Then on June 10th, we will welcome Dr. McCullough and his wife to our district with a reception. That event will begin at 5pm and will be held at St. Luke’s in OKC. Everyone is invited to attend.
