CHINESE NEW YEAR ORIGINS
Origins of the Chinese New Year- The
legend has been told differently from everyone’s
aspects, each story has a mythical monster that
preyed on Chinese villagers. The Lion king
master, Nian, whose name also means “year”. A
wise man consuls the villagers and encourages
them to scare the monster off by using loud items
such as fire crackers and also by wearing red, the
color Nian was afraid of. After Nian was defeated,
that day would be celebrated as the Chinese New
