From the pen of the

President

Happy New Year 2015! Like many of you, I’ve set goals for the coming year for myself, and your Board of Direc-tors, lead by Chair Hoppy Haden, has also set some lofty goals for the Chamber of Commerce. The new board is incredibly focused and determined to make this another successful year. You will hear more about the 2015 Goals at the Annual Chamber Banquet on January 24th at the Embassy Suites. If you would like to stay overnight after the Banquet, we have a block reserved for $144 per room. The first project in the coming year is the 3rd Annual Lone Star Grand Prix on March 7 & 8 around the down-town Square. The Chamber is working on the advertising of this event to bring more visitors to Lockhart, meaning more retail dollars and economic activity in our commu-nity. This benefits not only our businesses, but all our citi-zens. Just behind the LSGP is the 43rd Annual Chisholm Trail Roundup and Rodeo June 11th - 13th. Sponsorship pack-ages will be sent out in February and we’ll need your sup-port again this year to have a successful CTR and Rodeo. This is the largest tourism event for our community and one more way the Lockhart Chamber generates heads in beds, creating more Hotel Occupancy Tax money for pro-moting our community. We’ll be updating our CTR web-site www.chisholmtrailroundup.com as we receive confir-mations on entertainment, etc. More and more people continue to go to our Chamber website as well to get information about local businesses. Please check your company profile to make sure it is up-to-date. You can add employee contact information for email notifications, post a Hot Deal, Member2Member discounts and Job Postings. This is a benefit of your membership investment, so take advantage of it. If you need a demo of how to utilize the Chamber website, just call and set up an appointment. We are here for YOU Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Again, Happy New Year! Angela Rawlinson President/CEO
