Benefits of CIM (Construction Information Management)

Compared the two-dimensional CAD and 3D product model

• Two-dimensional drawings : If civil engineer look the data(drawings),

he recognize and imagine the object.

• However, two-dimensional CAD is, mere "line", "curves and circle", a

collection of "character", "pattern data".

• It’s difficult to recognize the members to the computer.

• For 3D product model, based on object-oriented technology to

represent a member shape and attribute data in a text file that is

compatible.

• As a result, the data of 3D product model, the computer can

understand.
