President’s Message

Dear Centro Ladies,

Congratulations to our club for a suc-

cessful governor's visit and induction. The joy I saw on

your faces was priceless. Added to the happiness it

brings was the induction 3 of our newest club members.

I am optimistic that we can carry out the plans and activ-

ities we have presented and hopefully to add more valua-

ble projects which can be useful to the community we

are reaching.

To the newly inducted members. Enjoy Rotary. People

get in for community service, and stayed for fellowships.

Yes you gain friendships once you enter the club. We

welcome you with open arms.

Also, to our ROTEX Leire, welcome! Enjoy the school you

will be in, make good friends and enjoy staying with your

host families. You will surely treasure all the memories.

Just like what Andrea had.

Thank you Centro Ladies for all the support that you

gave to make this activity a fruitful one.

Once again congratulations to the club!

Yours in Rotary,

World Class President

District 3820

Dear Fellow World Class Rotarians of District 3820,

Greetings!

Vocational Training Teams build on TRF’s deep- rooted commit-

ment to vocational training which first started by the Group Study

Exchange Program. Vocational Training Teams are group of profes-

sionals who travel abroad either to teach local professionals about

a particular field or to learn more about their own professions.

It moved a step further by including the requirements for meeting

one or more of the Six Areas of Focus; namely, Maternal and Child

Health, Disease Prevention and Treatment, Economic and Commu-

nity Development, Peace and Conflict Resolution, Water and Sani-

tation, and Basic Education and Literacy.

For Rotary Year 2015 – 2016 Vocational Training Team (VTT) fo-

cuses on Economic and Community Development. Our district will

be sending a team of professionals in allied engineering field. The

training will be held at the Geoje Shipyard of the Samsung Heavy

Industries. Samsung Heavy Industries is one of the largest ship-

builders in the world and Geoje Shipyard is the largest shipyard in

South Korea.

The Philippines, so far is the fourth largest shipbuilder, next to Ko-

rea, China and Japan. Being the 2nd largest archipelago in the

world, making it suitable to build a shipbuilding base, Philippines ‘

geographic structure and location became one of the primary fac-

tors for it to be the shipbuilding and repair hub in Asia.

Aware of the increasing number of workers required to be em-

ployed in the shipyards, RI District 3820 and RI District 3590 part-

nered to provide skills training and international exposure to engi-

neering professionals to improve and enhance their level of compe-

tencies.
