It was a good visit and the Search Committee felt that this is what we have been praying for in the past months. It was also a feeling of the Banks. On Sunday morning in an 8:30 a.m. meeting the committee met and we voted to recommend Dr. Banks to the Board and then to the congregation. It is a standing process and one I fully agree with. I cannot tell you the great outpouring of joy that was expressed this morning by the members of the church. It was a feeling we have not experienced in a long time. When you get a chance to meet Dr. Banks I believe you will feel the same way. Finally, what we have done and what we are doing as a committee, has only the best interest of the church at heart. I have repeatedly stressed this with the committee. Stewardship Campaign We had a wonderful turnout for our stewardship Sunday worship service and dinner last Sunday. I am very grateful to all those involved. The callers stimu-lated the best turnout for an all church dinner that I have seen in a long time. The dinner planners did an excellent job from set up to clean up and everything in between. Suzy did her usual outstanding job in preparing the meal. The min-isterial and secretarial staff all contributed a great deal of time and skill in put-ting this together. Dana Randolph’s singing was exceptional. We collected a large number of estimate of giving cards and I thank each and every one of you. I hope that those of you who have not been able to present an esti-mate of giving card will bring or mail their card to the church office or place their card in the offering plate next Sunday. If you need a card, call the church office and we will get one to you. These are estimates and can be changed if your situation changes by simply contacting the church’s financial secretary Your estimate of giving card is very important in our fiscal planning for 2016. The goal of the stewardship committee is to be able to present a new minister with a balanced budget.
