My Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Cardinal Cupich has mandated the suspension of all liturgies and public gatherings until further notice. The Cardinal’s decision is the result of the continuing spread of coronavirus/COVID-19 and based on current guidelines from local public health departments recommending the cancellation of public gatherings.

In compliance with this mandate, the following will not be held until further notice: Weekday Masses Weekend Masses Baptism Confirmation Saturday Reconciliation Stations of the Cross

The church will remain open for private prayer: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Saturday 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Sunday 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.

The Saturday 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 9:00 a.m. Masses will continue to be live-streamed at www.stjoseph- libertyville.org/live. We have just begun live-streaming of the 6:30 a.m. Mass Monday-Saturday at the same www.stjoseph-libertyville.org/live parishioners and visitors to attend these Masses. The live-streaming provides an opportunity to remain connected

www. archchicago.org/coronavirus.

It is important that the parish be able to continue its vital work during this crisis. We encourage you to continue your important support through your generous giving. Please sign up for online giving at www.stjoseph-libertyville.org/give. Or use your smart phone to text a gift to the parish by following the instructions at the bottom of page 7 of this Carpenter. You are also welcome to mail or drop off your weekly envelope at the mail-drop at the Parish Office.

The Parish Office will be closed until further notice. Please contact staff or clergy through email only, as phone cover-www.stjoseph-libertyville.org/staff.

We will continue to monitor this fluid situation and we will share new or additional guidelines as we receive them. Our website and social media accounts will also be updated. This is a challenging time for all of us. We ask for your patience, understanding and prayers.

In gratitude, Fr. John Trout

Bed Ministry Rushes To Deliver Beds The St. Joseph Bed Ministry worked hard the weekend of March 14-15 to make sure that as many kids as possible were able to receive a bed to sleep in before the mandatory delivery shut-down went into effect. We are pleased to share that every child on our waiting list received a bed as of bed-time on March 15. Thank you!

Email Security Alert Over the past few months, there have been reports of email messages being sent from Father Trout's email address requesting help or financial assistance. The emails that have been sent appear to be very similar to Father Trout’s account. Father Trout would never send an email requesting financial assistance. If you receive an email from Father Trout or from any staff member, the address will end in @stjoseph-libertyville.org. The scam email address will often appear to be similar, however, upon a closer look the subtle changes become apparent. When receiving any email, please verify the address extension. For example, our email address is [email protected] not [email protected]@gmail.com. You may also see the sender’s actual email address by using your mouse to hover over the sender’s name or by viewing the “reply to” address. Please always confirm by phone or in person before sending money or clicking on links.
