The Cardboard Challenge provides a fun opportunity for students to be creative and build whatever they can dream using only cardboard and recyclable materials. This challenge presents a unique opportunity to enrich problem solving skills, enhance innovative thinking, encourage teamwork, become resource- ful, and most importantly, have fun! Students will have their cardboard creations on display in the Washburn Rural Middle School gymnasi- um on March 30, 2020. The gymnasium will be open from 3:305:30 pm for creations to be set, judging will take place from 5:306:30 pm, a community walk will be available from 6:00-7:00 pm, and an Awards Ceremony will begin at 7:00 pm. Registration: go to usd437.net/cardboard Rules: 1. The Cardboard Challenge is open to all Auburn-Washburn students and their families. 2. Entries can come from an individual student, a team of students, or a student(s) with family or adult collaboraon. 3. Entries will be built using creavity, cardboard, and recycled materials. 4. Entries must be in compliance with school rules and expectaons. Awards given in the following Categories: Individual Student or Team of Students; PreK – Grade 3 Individual Student or Team of Students; Grades 4 – 6 Individual Student or Team of Students; Grades 7 – 8 Individual Student or Team of Students; Grades 9 – 12 Individual Student or Team of Students with Family or Adult Collaboraon; All Grades Judging Rubric: Creavity Use of Appropriate Materials (cardboard and recyclable materials) Quality of Project Construcon Communicaon Skills – Ability to speak to judges about the entry during judging Quesons?
